Up Topic Training / High Performance / Summer Solstice 5k report.

Hope I'm not abusing the new boards by posting my 5k report here.:mischief:

Worked all day putting down bark chips in the yard then headed south to a community college for a 5k.
This run is put on by oregon road runners club which puts on a lot of good races during the year and they don't charge you for anything but an accurately measured course and clock plus some goodies at the end.
I have done this particular race several times in the past.  It is a double loop on somewhat of a xc formate.  Used my garmin for splits which worked great for the first 2 miles but lost signal and measure the 3rd mile long for some reason.
Mile 1  6:11 gps measured
Mile 2  6:19  gps measured
Mile 3  5:42 (I wish) gps measured
Mile 3.1 whatever

Official finish 20:02
Gps finish 19:54 (3.28 miles)
I have to believe the official was the accurate one because of the gps problems at mile 3.
Excluding a sub 20 on a short course last year this would have to be my 5k pr.  I have to believe that I could have gone sub 20 with some taper and not carrying around this extra 10lbs of Germany baggage.  I'm happy.

are you using the Blue style? I think that's the one that looks the best!

if you're getting squished emoticons, just do shift-reload to fix it.
Parent - By joerunner (100 mile stud) Date 2006-06-22 11:54 PM
My emoticons have not  had this problem but thanks for the helpful advice.

Joe;

Was that at MHCC? Nice report and no, not an abuse of these new forums. Running is not always frowned upon.:mischief:
Parent - By joerunner (100 mile stud) Date 2006-06-23 5:45 PM
Hi Buck, that was at CCC.
Parent - - By Jeri Brown [us] Date 2006-06-25 2:21 PM

Thanks Jeri, with some age grading you probably kick my butt.
