This is it that last chance. I know Dave is eager to get back to the mall and also check out that new shopping center. If you get a chance today check out what your forum friends are doing.
QOTD. Are you tapering for Christmas, or are you trying to get in a bunch more miles to make up for poor Advent training?
Good morning Greybeard and those who follow. I walked and ran 3.1 miles at the park this morning. Part of me would like to go to the mall today just to observe the crowds but I will probably just stay home.
Local news guy went to the mall yesterday afternoon and it took him 45 minutes to drive a half mile from the mall to Walmart.
I can view the east entrance to the mall on a traffic cam. Always good entertainment.
I told Lynda that today she needs to go back to JC Penney at the mall to wish all of her old colleagues a Merry Christmas. She then started reaching for the biggest pot she could find and that's how my run began.
By my appearance here today, you would be safe to assume that the fireplace guy did not show up yesterday to finish the job. (I said I'd drop dead of heart failure if he came on the day he said he would.)
Dang it! Those fireplace repair people are something else.
I actually ran and I had very very low expectations as I was coughing and wheezing at breakfast. The run blew me away. Literally I felt like I was gliding along with the wind at my back. Then I turned around. I had to pick and choose some streets to avoid head on. Though it was still neccesary.
I wish I were tapering for Christmas. Things are ramping up like crazy. Phone calls text etc. I used Nextdoor Neighborhood this year to broaden the word. It is effective but a little clunky for quick communication.
Drove to Philly last night to a church Christmas performance. Normal drive about 50 min. Last night was just shy of 2 hours. A lot of folks on the road.

Oh I can just imagine all the hustle and bustle!
Here in S.F. Bay Area, Shopping Malls and many other stores will be/and are now open (no closures) for shopping from 7pm yesterday Friday till 6-7pm on Christmas Eve12/24.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS Masters!
It's too late to use Amazon, so now it's back to shopping the old fashion way.
I've got a daily goal for minutes of working out. I still track the miles but am not as obsessed about them. So, not really tapering, just keeping up the steady stream.
You know Dave, we don't even really have a mall. There is a building with empty spaces where the anchor stores used to be. I might find yours entertaining. ok, for about 5 minutes and then I'd be pulling my hair out.
I just finished up my run and really didn't notice any extra traffic. I didn't have to stop or even slow down at most intersections. Maybe folks are already at their destination and celebrating.
Amy popped in overnight after a party. Misha the guard dog didn't even move a whisker. Anyway, coffee with my girl this morning then she headed back home. Seems she has shopping, wrapping, and baking to do. Then she'll be here tomorrow night and stay until Wednesday.
It's all coming together. Happy Saturday before Christmas all.
Ahh...having coffee with a Amy, now that is a real treat!
Just arrived home from a fun day with my family. We went to the casino about 2 1/2 hours away and came back with some $$$ in our pockets! But most of all, we laughed all the way coming and going.
Jerry and I got up early and went to the gym before we left.
QOTD -- I'm just trying to stay even with my eating and working out.
