Have a great FE!!

A nice easy 4 mile trail jog with the Lady up on the local trail last night. We did the goofy loop at the end of the trail down the steep hill and across the creek, up and over dozens of downed trees. It's sort of a silly portion of trail, but we do it once in awhile. Oh, there was a helicopter flying nearby with a huge buzz saw hanging from a cable. There is tree maintenance going on at some power line corridors and the helicopter staging area is near my local trail.

Today, I will get in 5-7 miles on some trails late afternoon. Need to pack the headlamp for the finish I suppose.

7 miles.
I ran 5 with friends then added 2 more. It was pretty perfect weather, started with a long sleeve and took it off about 2 miles in.
Parent - - By blazer85 [us] Date 2018-11-08 9:44 AM
I did a short sleeve shirt this morning as I figured long sleeve would end up being too much.  My neighbors prefer I keep my shirt on!

Easy 4 miles this morning. I have been dealing with a sore quad or something near the quad thing the past couple of weeks and it has been annoying me a lot the past few days.  It could be a THING or, it could be in my head since I have a marathon on Saturday.  My left bicep is still bothering me, so I will likely do the elliptical later instead of boxing class.  I have last night's American Horror Story to watch which will keep me from being bored on the elliptical.

I just circulated a memo to Important People to approve a deal I have spent most of the year working on.  I am in the brief optimistic stage of thinking I have done a good job and things will go smoothly so I can close the deal in the next month.  I am fully aware NOTHING ever goes smoothly:roll::roll:, but I can still pretend for a few hours!:laugh:
Parent - By donnasaur [us] Date 2018-11-08 9:57 AM
I hope you are pleasantly surprised and the deal goes smoothly.
Parent - By redraider0528 (Fashionista) Date 2018-11-08 10:15 AM
Good luck this weekend!!!
Parent - By Beastie Girl [us] Date 2018-11-08 10:16 AM
Watch that quad thing!

When do you hear back from the Important People on the deal?
Parent - By nooner [us] Date 2018-11-08 10:23 AM
I thought that the race was Sunday?

I hope the quad thing isn’t a real THING.

Just did our usual 9km with 2 other humans and 2 other dogs

I went with my sexy tights for the first time this fall and had to scrape the frost off the car windows.  Even Pepe the cat was in her shed in her little house for the second morning in a row.

What was the actual temperature? I understand Celsius.
Parent - By Mookiethedog Date 2018-11-08 11:49 AM
I'm not sure....it is 1C right now....I would guess it was -3C when we headed out.  The windshield washer fluid melted the front stuff as I went the lazy route. It's very damp here so we get cool frost.
Thanks for being bilingual with temperatures

I was just looking for a pair of tights this morning. Not to run in, just to wear. : pbbt:
Parent - - By Mookiethedog Date 2018-11-08 11:51 AM
Truthfully....they are kind of long underwear/liner thingees you would wear to go skiing or hiking that I....BOUGHT AT COSTCO with my mommy in September.  They are awesome.
I just put those bad boys on and shorts over and I look all mint (or more mint)

I am so tired today. I was in SF for tuesday-wednesday. Tuesday night I was heading back to my hotel to watch election returns, but then saw that my brother was in SF too, so we met up and hung out. Totally wonderful.
last night I got home at about midnight, probably didn't fall asleep until 1. my normal alarm is at 5, but I set a backup at 6. When the alarm went off at 5 I saw the news alerts about the shooting in Thousand Oaks and couldn't fall back to sleep. My brother (the one I met out on Tuesday) and his family live in Thousand Oaks, I  know exactly where that bar is. I just couldn't go back to sleep thinking about those people who just lost a family member.

Today was 7 miles. I am going to take my mom out to lunch, she is here until tomorrow and would be nice to have some time. N has a violin recital tonight.

I'm glad you got to spend some time with your brother!

me too  he was still in SF last night, i'm sure it sucked for him to realize his family was right near that shooting.

It has been a week. Yesterday it started to turn around, there was a really positive meeting with the big client that was close to dumping us, and they are happy with the action plan we put into place, so we aren't imminently losing the business. Yay! But then my boss called me into a meeting at the end of the day yesterday (the day ended at 7pm ) to let me know that he had resigned. My boss is amazing. He has advocated for me at every turn. Even though he frustrated the hell out of me at times, he was always a solid leader and had our team's backs. His leaving is a huge loss and I'm super bummed. He outlined what he thinks the plan for our team should be after he leaves, but we don't even know if they are going to replace him or anything. I feel better about it today, but I'm still reeling a bit.

BUT today is a new day and I'm trying to make it a good one. I decided to try a tempo run this morning since that's what DH has on his calendar. 20 min tempo, aiming for 8:22 pace. After my 1-mi warmup, I ended up averaging 8:41 for the 20 minutes of tempo, then I cooled down and ran home for a total of 5.2 miles. I'll take it. I had gotten up earlier than I needed to, so I took the dog on a longer morning walk than usual and then just took my sweet time getting ready for work. It was nice having some extra time!

We have our first corporate vball game of the season tonight! There are a lot of new players, and a total of 13 people have said they are coming. :shocker!: We will see how many actually show up though.

Nothing yet for me.  I'll teach spin class tonight.

I did spend a bunch of time this morning finishing off the scoring & updating standings in the Grand Prix with results from a 10K last Sunday.  Glad that's done & posted online!

Pizza & beer for dinner tonight 'cause it's Thursday.

Woke up at 5:53 and went for my typical run - 3 miles. got home and turned the news on. Thousand Oaks is where I live. So horrible, mental issues are so scary. The families are trying to get to people who left their phones behind in the bar and so they don't know if they are ok. No names have been released yet.

It's suppose to be safe place, a suburban town.

ugh...

Just saw passing police escorting the fallen police officer to morgue, flags are down. He was 1 year away from retiring.

Yesterday was Friday for me. Yay! I’m not checking my work email today, either.

So far today, I’ve done laundry, taken the car for an oil change, made two batches of chocolate chip cookies, made brownies (regular and gluten free), made blondies (gluten free), roasted veggies (golden and regular beets, butternut squash) for dinner, and helped the kid with her resume. Also ran 5 mi this morning.

Now more resume work and some house cleaning chores to deal with. Plus I’m finally going to make that lentil dish I’ve been meaning to make all week. Also possibly on tap: making a cookie to-make list for the upcoming holiday season. Plus I have a couple of job listings I need to respond to.

5km/30:00, plus 3.5km walking.

Mom just left to take part in an air race with her 99's friends. Starts in Temecula, into AZ to several airports, and ends in Lake Havasu.:hug:

5 easy miles at noon.

I ran with the woman from our office. We met in the fitness center in our building and when she came out she was obviously upset about something. Then she told me that a bottle of hair conditioner spray (something I had never heard of) had leaked all over her running clothes. Then I noticed the perfume smell from the spray. It wasn’t noticeable while we were running but was still there whenever we stopped. We did check out the new art installation at the art building on campus and it is pretty cool.

Got on the track last night around 8pm for some 400s just to get some sub 6 pace running in. Did 8 x 400 with 1:00 rest averaging 84 seconds and change. Good to get some faster running in without taxing my body too much. 6 miles for the night. Will do an easy 8 tonight.

Enjoy your FE tonight! That sounds fun.

3 miles this morning, around the small lake. I had my phone with me so I took a selfie at our “engagement bench” to send to W. Fun!

First basketball practice tonight. I’m looking forward to it. This will be the final season with my younger daughter:sad:. And it likely would have been the end of my time as a youth sports coach. But...as long as my soon-to-be stepdaughters have any interest and don’t mind having me as a coach, I’ll get to do a bunch more coaching in the years ahead:shocker!::cool::hug:.
