I've got nothing special to say but let's get this started anyway.

Changing weather day; cold front, storms, rain, flash floods.  I think after today fall is finally here. Bring on the wool socks and puffy coats.

Yoga and groceries today.  Do you have reusable grocery bags?  I have slowly trained myself to REMEMBER to take them along.....
Parent - - By Dave59 [us] Date 2018-10-10 7:17 AM
I've been picking up reusable bags here and there.  So far I have been remembering to take them about half the time.  When I was up in Buffalo for the reunion I picked up a couple Buffalo Bills reusable bags.  Having different bags makes them more memorable and I take them more often.

Mine from Horrocks in Lansing are my favorite.
Parent - - By Grey Beard Tom [us] Date 2018-10-10 10:22 AM
We need all of the plastic bags we get.  Mostly get used for Shirley's dirty diapers.
Parent - - By dnaff [us] Date 2018-10-10 12:34 PM
pardon the bad humor but it gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "diaper bag"

Our cold front comes in on Sunday!
Parent - - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-10-10 6:17 AM
Thanks for the start!

Yes I do have reusable grocery bags and take them with me.  Only time I don't use them is when I make an unexpected stop at the grocery store.

We are supposed to have a nice sunny day today!  I'm scheduled to walk with a friend this morning at 9:00.

Praying that all forum peeps in the wake of Hurricane Michael remain safe.

Enjoy your hump day!
Parent - By dnaff [us] Date 2018-10-10 8:51 AM
walking with a friend.  good times for sure.
Parent - - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2018-10-10 7:10 AM
I have not run since last Friday :shocker!::sad: right hammy had been bothering me for awhile, last Friday it went "pop". Figure i have at least a few weeks on the sidelines. Got some PT info/help from my son.
So the streak ended after 2,874 days.
Will try and start a new one around the first of the year

Well dang.  All good things must come to an end.

But that was a long streak you had going!  It is good to have a PT in the family.
Parent - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2018-10-10 1:25 PM
yeah, it was fun while it lasted. sure do miss running. will take it slow and ease back into it.
Parent - - By Dave59 [us] Date 2018-10-10 11:37 AM
Sorry about your hamstring and streak.  Are you going to get it looked at or wait and see how it goes?
Parent - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2018-10-10 1:26 PM
Not gonna get it looked at. doesn't really hurt when walking. figure it is a just a small tear, in the meaty part of the muscle.
Got some rehab stuff to do from Caleb, seems to be helping. Will do a test job Saturday.
Parent - - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-10-10 6:26 PM
Is Diego ok with the streak coming to an end?
Parent - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2018-10-11 1:18 PM
Yes, he's fine. He does his own special kind of streaking

I went to a meeting at church this morning so I am going to skip another day of workouts.  I've been feeling bad anyway so I am hoping all this extra rest helps.

The family in Navarre decided to stay since they are on the weak side of the storm. They did put up their hurricane shutters over the windows and doors.  They are supposed to get a lot of rain with 50 MPH wind where they are.
Parent - By Grey Beard Tom [us] Date 2018-10-10 8:08 AM
Church meeting instead of workout.   You must really be burned out from training.
Parent - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-10-10 6:27 PM
Hope your Navarre family is ok.

Hey, Y'all!

No running to report:sad: Weird thing happened yesterday. Alex and I went to the grocery store, and when I stepped down out of the car, I felt and heard a popping in the back of my left knee. I limped through the store, having to hold onto the cart (or BUGGY as we say here in the south!!) to walk. I felt a clicking with each step. I was totally freaking out because it really hurt. Limped to the car, got home and was afraid to step out of the car......and then....NOTHING! No pain, no clicking??!! Today, the back of my knee is sore, but nothing bad. :roll:I'm going to take it easy today anyway.

I have my PT appointment at 1:00 with the Lymphedema specialist/mean little 80-pound woman!

Today is Ray's BD. Alex will bake him a German Chocolate cake. I will try not to burn him a lovely dinner!
Parent - By Grey Beard Tom [us] Date 2018-10-10 8:07 AM
Oh my on the knee.  Maybe you should sue the grocery store for pavement not supporting you.    Hope you have a quiet unstressed birthday for Ray.
Parent - By dnaff [us] Date 2018-10-10 8:49 AM
popped Baker's cyst maybe?   HB Ray!
Parent - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-10-10 9:14 AM
Happy Birthday to Ray!

Nothing special to say here.  Another lame run.  Was at Shirley until 2:30 this morning.   She seemed to enjoy the birthday party.  Had cheese steaks for dinner.  Shirley ate well.  Looking forward to some used Dawn weather.  Still wearing shorts and T shirts all day. 80s and humid.  Seemed strange shopping for cold weather gear last night.

Honda:cry::cry::cry:  My streak of working on Honda is longer than my running streak:laugh:

Mega Millions is worth over half a billion dollars.  Make your plans for the big Masters FE.   Lynda won $2 last night.  That will buy the winning ticket for Friday.

30's here tomorrow morning.  They are even speaking of wind chill!!  How about I send you 1/2 of it?
Parent - - By Grey Beard Tom [us] Date 2018-10-10 10:20 AM
Half of that is just fine.  I don't know if I'm ready to go from HHH to windchill all in the same week.
Parent - - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-10-10 10:50 AM
So what will the weather be like on your upcoming adventure?
Parent - - By Grey Beard Tom [us] Date 2018-10-10 12:52 PM
Fall, summer and winter with a touch of spring.
Parent - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-10-10 1:10 PM
So would that be South America?
Parent - - By Dave59 [us] Date 2018-10-10 11:38 AM
It's raining outside here. I am working at home to the soothing sounds of rain dripping down the chimney.  I wonder if I will ever get this fixed.
Parent - By dnaff [us] Date 2018-10-10 12:33 PM

It is just trying to make you reminisce about Niagara Falls trip.
Parent - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-10-10 6:28 PM
That is so odd. You didn't have a problem until the roof was replaced, correct?  So how can the roofers say it isn't their problem?
