I actually felt halfway decent while running this morning.  I'm not sure why -- the weather is still as miserable as ever -- but I was slightly less sweaty than usual.  It's been so long since I have felt anything other than pure misery while running.  I wouldn't say I felt great, but I didn't feel like dying.  Anyway, I ran 14 miles.

I have 3 good friends running Chicago today. My one friend was hoping to BQ but she didn't and I feel bad for her. The wheels must have fallen off as her first half splits were on target but the last have was very off.

But my other 2 are running their very first marathon ever and are on track to finish!!!!!:grin::grin:

Sorry to hear that your one friend missed her BQ goal, but congrats to the other two!

Ugh her knee gave out at mile 18 and she walked the rest. When you see splits go from 8-something to 13-something, that is worrisome. (of course my splits start out at 13-something and it's all downhill from there). My other 2 finished in about 530 which is pretty good for a first! Their splits were very even so they didn't go out too fast and I think it was relatively cool. Can't wait to talk to them.

I'm semi contemplating Philly next year. Its far enough into the winter that long run training here in Florida would be semi-doable, there is no lottery, and the relatives mean I have a place to stay and Gavin could come with me. First my stress fracture has to heal - I'm a month off running now and looking at another month at least. I'm being very good and not doing any high impact activity, I've mostly been biking and doing body pump and yoga (careful not to roll over on my foot or do any toe stand work. I miss running but I've been injured before and always came back.

What a sucky time to have one's knee go out.

Philly sounds like a good option!  Assuming, of course, that the rehab from your sfx goes well.  It sounds like you're doing all the right things.

well I've got 14 months so I should be rehabbed! Ready is always another issue.....

Eh, worry about that later.

would love to see you if you made it to Philly! best of luck with your sfx recovery.

37th marathon today! All week I debated even running so I’m thrilled with my finish. 3:32 officially but took two bathroom stops (I never need this during a marathon :mutmad:) and without those 3:26, which would be a PR! great knowing I have that ability still.
Parent - By judyruns Date 2018-10-07 6:52 PM
Congrats to you! That is a LOT of "marys".

Congrats!  Sorry about the bathroom stops ruining your official PR, but fantastic run nonetheless!

wow. I am in awe of those who run multiple marathons anything over double digits!

hi everyone! just dropping in to say that Emery Charlotte, 6 b 15 oz, 19.75 inches, arrived at 6:36 am on October 8 (yesterday, Monday). labor started at 10:30 pm Sunday with mild contrax 7-8 min apart. By 2 am contrax were 3-4 min apart and we headed to the birth center. Deep in the agonizing fun of transition by 4:30. Labor was insane, as it is , and I felt the urge to push/poop at about 6:30. 4 big pushes, with all of the attendant horrible pain , and she was in my arms! Aaron was a rockstar and massaged my back through every single contraction. His thumbs are tired  I managed not to swear at him or tell him I hate him. Haha. Anyway, home now, and we're adjusting. P seems ok so far - have had my first adventures in tandem nursing, and the first thing she said this morning to Emery was "hi babe!" Haven't slept in 48 hours, but such is the newborn life.
