(Starting these early since I’m guessing exhaustion won’t have me getting up too early tomorrow )

Cleveland corporate challenge today. It’s a 6xmile road relay with all of the big corps running 3 guys and 3 girls. There were SO many ringers this year it was a joke. Lots of guys AND girls that I know from local races who were running that do NOT work for these places. So lame. So I was kinda pissed and it helped me run well.

2 mile warm up. It was windy but pretty nice out.
I was the anchor leg and we were in like 24th when I started. We finished in 8th I think and I ran 4:53 mile! Not bad for an old dude!

I then ran 5.4 miles home to get a few extra miles in.

Definitely leaving #allthemiles to you guys this weekend.  My feet are so sore!  1.25 on the mill feeding the streak monster.

Funny story from yesterday. I was understandably really struggling at the end of the run. My pace had gone way down and I was just shuffling home any way I could get there those last 3 miles. Except that when I hit 49.3 miles my Garmin beeped and said low battery. :shocker!:  I was like oh hell no. I want this thing recorded. All of it. :mutmad: And I went from a 13 minute mile 49 to closing the last .7 in sub 8 minute pace.  That was the motivation I needed I guess because I would’ve sworn that could’ve never happened after 9 hours of running.

5 things
1) Garmin on clear days seems to hit mile markers slightly sooner but oh well
2) mile 1 9:37  well look at that first single digit mile
3) @ 1.5 my morning lady with two dogs … big smile .. "look how fast you are getting"
4) mile 2 another single digit .. oh hell … now I have to try :meh:
5) 3 … 9:40 avg. not sure what happened ..but i'll take it

Peace
the old newb

“oh hell ... now I have to try”

 I love that!  Sounds like something my internal dialogue would produce.

Nice job not only trying, but succeeding.

Avg HR 145
Max HR 166

More active recovery today. Got the dog out for a walk. Not our normal 2 miles but probably close to 1.5. It was a little warm for her. Then 3.1 easy on the mill. My feet are still pretty sore but improving with movement.
