It is national vanilla ice cream day.  Have a sweet and uncomplicated day.

I got that from Sandra Boynton's face book page.  I may take the dog to Dairy Queen for a treat; I get the ice cream, she gets the last bite of the cone.

Off to Happy Tails in a minute.  Just got done dragging Misha around the park.  For being part of an active family she sure can be a lazy butt.  She'd never make it as a sled dog.

Vanilla is my favorite ice cream. Mix in a little Reese's to bump it up a notch.

I ran 3 this morning. I didn't feel like I had much energy when I woke up but I figured I could at least cover 3 miles with some jogging and walking.  Then it turned out to be a pretty nice run. Each mile quicker than the last with just a couple short walk breaks.

must be one of those good run mornings!!! Awesome!!!

Vanilla Bean is my favorite! It's great when a run ends up being more pleasant than we anticipated!

Oh I do love vanilla, but I don't eat ice cream. I did see Breyer's has a dairy free ice cream now.

So this morning my girl text me "I was harnessed in" :wtf: a few minutes later I get a picture of her and her boss sitting in the back of a c-130 with the back open. Ah my daredevil. She was totally excited to be on a test flight looking down at the earth. But she knows that makes me nervous Nelly.

I woke up to it pouring rain so I turned over and got some more zzzzzz. When Chris came in to say good bye I asked him about the weather, he said it looks threatening, but I think it's not due to rain for a while. So I jumped out of bed and ran 3 quick ones. I found a 10K plan today was 30 minutes. Was wet out but not raining and muggy, or as they say in Maine "close." Of course my watch decided not to connect so I ran a mile with nothing. At the end of my 30 minutes (I left the house at 6 am right on) it read 19:32 2 miles 9:32 min miles....oh so take that one. I mapped it out on gmaps and it was just over 3 miles, so I think closer to a 10 min mile. But still I will take that. Weird I ran so well in this thick air.

Now it is pouring!!!

Anyone heard from Dottie? DOTTIE!!!!!

I will try to have an uncomplicated day, but today is a work day, soooooo.....

Have a wonderful beginning of the last full week of July. Unbelievable.

Your girl sounds like mine! I hyperventilated a few times looking at photos of some of Alex's adventures when she was studying abroad!

I am going to check FB again for Dottie's adventures! All I know is that she finished, but the wind and rain were brutal.

Hoping for a sweet and uncomplicated day here!! I see my oncologist for my scan results this afternoon. I'm always a bit nervous about getting the results. and also every time I see my oncologist he reminds me that I am at high risk for a recurrence. Not sure why he feels the need to tell me that EVERY time I see him??!! Also, if the cyst on my pancreas has increased in size again (a slight increase last scan) I have to see a specialist about it. SOOOO.....prayers appreciated for an uneventful (uncomplicated!) day at the cancer center!!

No running until later this evening.

National Ice Cream Day is something I feel I should celebrate since ice cream is pretty much my favorite food group! Y'all have a great day!

Josiah and I might have to grab some vanilla.    He and I went for a run together. Not a good run distance or speed, but just fun out with him.   It has been so good having him around.  I wish the weather were cooperating a little more.  Spent a rainy Sat and Sunday painting some toy soldiers.  We had to do an internet search to study WW2 uniforms.   Some good history lessons in the process.  Tonight we go to a Phillies game.  Surprising Josiah.  Pick up Scott to go with us.

Great memories being made with Josiah.  What can be better than summer evening at the ballpark with your "boys?"

Oh fun times with your grandson!

I prefer vanilla ice cream over all other flavors.  Maybe a trip with Melissa somewhere to get vanilla ice cream this evening.

This is my last week of uninterrupted summer break.  Next week, teachers are back for open house and PD during the day, I think starting the 31st.  I am at school now to get a couple of bulletin boards ready that are in the PE area.  I haven't changed them in two years, so figure I should probably do that.  The ones I have up are still nice and informational, but maybe something different would be good.  I have some time and motivation to work and podcasts to listen to while I work.

I ran 8 miles this morning.

Hi! I’m inundated with family which is a great thing. I finished my Tri just under my worst case scenario goal. It was crazy windy and rainy. I was good with the swim although the chop was challenging. The bike was so hard. I wasn’t very prepared but I got it done. Next year I’ll have a new bike and more confidence.  The run was hard. Pouring rain and wind again. 2:44:26 and I wanted under 2:45 as my worst case scenario goal so I’m calling it good with some lessons learned. My sister and her daughter did it as a relay band they finished in 1:55

Today only my left inner quad is a little achy. I feel great. Can’t wait until next year.

Wow!! That is awesome Dottie!! You are so amazing. I was thinking of you all day! They kept talking about the Boston tri and the weather advisory. I was wondering if you'd still swim. So that is just awesome!!!

Enjoy the family!!! and the accomplishment!

Family is great but Island logistics have been challenging. The swim was rough but the bike into the wind and downpours was brutal.

 My T1 was better. My bike was abysmal but it was not a great bike and I was under prepared. Next on my to do list is a new bike and trainer and a bike computer
Parent - By ironjen Date 2018-07-25 6:15 AM
Ah, but did you have fun?
Parent - By markhh [us] Date 2018-07-23 12:01 PM
Threat of rain yesterday kept me inside for a 30 min workout on the elliptical followed by planks.

Probably the same today.
Parent - By oncearunner [us] Date 2018-07-23 1:27 PM
Morning power walk done and then I went to Planet Fitness also and did some weight machine exercises.  Cleaned the master bedroom and bathroom.  Have laundry ready to go.

Oh what an exciting life I lead!

Enjoy that vanilla ice cream!
