2 miles on a hot cushy black track with no shade and no breeze. Probably good prep for running around a high school track.........
Cruise control today. 80 degrees and humid but I just kept on the HR and ended up with 7.4 miles at 7:04 pace

So.. I thought I had been dealing with a chronic tight left hamstring, which had been causing some (read hurts a lot until loosened up aka 1 mile) hip pain, when it occurred to me .... idiot (that would be me) your sciatic nerve is getting crushed by your piriformis.. so I am adjusting my stretching accordingly. Backed of on the run today and hit the gym .. arms, chest, shoulders and little leg .. with ..wait for it .... some stretching
side note .. anybody run in Brooks? (ghost 10's) e.g. I am going to eventually have to buy some shoes (painful) as my farm and fleet Adidas are getting pretty worn

Glad you hopefully figured out the hip pain. I’m sure the new shoes might help with that as well. I don’t run in Brooks, so no help here with that either. I used to run in pretty much any neutral shoe that was on sale but I’m pretty much Saucony exclusive now.
yeah I'm pretty neutral myself .. lot's of good shoes out there .. thanks ... both adidas and saucony have always been good go to's

I used to run in the Ghost. Neutral cushioned and good for a husky fella like me.
Went more minimalist and ran in Pure Flows forever but Brooks has ruined them.
I just started running in Saucony Kinvara and I think I love them.

Treadmill Fartlek run

After deciding last week I could just live with this, I’ve had a rough week.
Last night was the worst with a close call of nearly aspirating stomach acid out of nowhere. I was pretty off still this morning. I knew running would only make things worse so I took the kayak out this morning instead. Got about 90 minutes of paddling in. My hands are in pretty rough shape, no callouses yet, but it was very nice to be put on the water. Got the run in tonight on the mill watching France vs Belgium on the DVR. 10.1 miles. I go back to the doctor tomorrow. I just don’t know...
