If you're racing this weekend or during the coming week, let everyone know about it!
Race name / distance
Escape The Cape Triathlon, Aquabike category. Olympic distance, for this event - 1 mile swim, 23 mile bike.
Cape May, NJ
June 10 - Sunday
Not to suck!
Unique to this event is the swim start. They load up 1,550 - 2,000 competitors on the Cape May to Lewis (DE) ferry, pull it out into the Delaware Bay off the west coast of NJ and you begin by jumping off the ferry! I think this video
is from its first year. The weather is not looking so good right now
Yes! Cape May is at the southern tip of NJ and the Atlantic Ocean is on its East Coast and the Delaware Bay on the West Coast! If you're on Facebook, the picture in the first post on this page
shows the west side (coast) Of Cape May with open water beyond it...Delaware is too far away to be seen. Water at the bottom is the inlet where the ferry docks. The Atlantic Ocean would be much further to the right, not in the photo.
Not on the Book of the Face, sorry. But thanks for the explanation. I thought it might have been something on the lines of "lovely property for sale located a few miles west of San Diego" which would be lovely underwater property.
Good luck and have fun!

I hope it goes well and you don't suck.
Shadow of the Giants um, well, probably somewhere around 47K (nobody's ever too sure and they had to reroute some of it this year due to a wildfire)
Fish Camp, CA, just outside the south entrance to Yosemite
Goal: 1) finish (didn't last year) 2) not be last (if possible) 3) don't see a bear
Good luck! Especially with the bear part
If you hear a bear, just close your eyes.

Have a great race and 3 seems more like a requirement than a goal though if 3 happened it might encourage 1 and 2.
Finished. Didn't see a bear. Not sure if I count as last or not since the only person behind me was Ann Traynor who was sweeping. But done.
Heartsick about the Nelder Grove trail. The Railroad fire destroyed it.
I loved that grove.
