I'm flying my flag.  Are you?

Post your plans for the day or just say hi.

We had a flagpole when we bought the house.  It is long gone but I have smaller American flags decorating the flower pots at the front of the house.

Lee is making breakfast, Lisa and Jacob are asleep, Misha wants a walk and I need to get to Happy Tails to clean up some kitties.   Going for 100 degrees today.  It will be a long day spent in the house.  Michiganders are heading home around noon......

Did you guys go straight from Presidents Day to 4th of July weather?  :shocker!:  How were the parties?  Did you crash any?
Parent - - By dnaff [us] Date 2018-05-28 8:45 AM
We went to a 40th bday celebration.  They are sweet people, good parents, and just all around great neighbors.  I figured it was time to come home though when one of the guests showed up with a tray full of Jell-O shots.:shocker!:

we didn't crash the graduation party though I am still hopeful they will bring over some leftover cake.

Nice going.  Sounds more like 4th of July weather for 5k.
Parent - - By dnaff [us] Date 2018-05-28 8:40 AM
I'd need 50 degrees to hit that pace.
Parent - - By markhh [us] Date 2018-05-28 12:12 PM
50 degrees, downhill, with a tailwind.

First thing I did this morning was post the colors on the front porch.  I ran into town again and stopped at the war memorial and recited the names on there and rendered a salute. On the way back I ran through a small flee market at the comic book shop.  I don't do comic books but they have lots of other collectables, like action figures, star war models etc. My grandsons would have loved it.   Weather here is :meh: cloudy 60s but humid.   I ran past Duck Donuts.  Good thing I had no money.

A memory with my Dad.  He took me to France to Omaha Beach.  From the beach we went to the cemetery where his best friend and Best Man from wedding was buried.  He was just yards from my Dad when he was cut down on the Beach.  Dad never verbalized it but I know he wondered how fate could spare you on that day.

I keep reading "pw" as personal worse and thinking that we need to stage an intervention for your self-esteem problem. I mean, not everyday can be a personal worse

My parents are living just outside of Waco, and they were grumbling to me yesterday about the heat.

I drove to the trails this morning.  Ran 12.01 miles.  It was humid, but shady from the sun the whole way.  Saw no human being.  Saw one deer.

Makayla and Isaac have the day off work so they went to an amusement park in Santa Claus, Indiana.  Holiday World.

Melissa and I are home enjoying the day.  We work tomorrow, then no more going to school until August.  Living the good teacher life in June and July.

I have no flags to fly.  But, am very grateful for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Got ours up on the holder attached to the mailbox

I was going to post earlier, but kept nodding off, so decided on a nap first

Got up early this morning and did 4.10 miles on a paved trail in the State Park near the house. Didn't see a single human. Did see a huge woodpecker.

The rest of the day will be - well - not much.

Las Vegas (5/21 to 5/27):

There for (my wife's)VCR's 50th High School (LV H.S. WILDCATS) reunion, LV Wildcats 2018 Graduation, actually she was one of 50 1968 graduates, the 50 wore Gold Hats and Gold Gowns, and the 50 sat together behind the 720 2018 Graduates (yes 720).   IT WAS WONDERFUL.

And, Las Vegas:

1. Gambling, what's that????/ - we loss $0.75 - starting with $1 on a slot machine
2. FUN, no end to it
3. Sex, anywhere/everywhere - one stage show "SEXXY" we did not attend (happily)
4. Alcohol, all that you want and no end
5. Bellagio's, Circus O = go and it is worth every penny of the $179/person to get in and be mesmerized by the agileability
6. Westgate Hotel, where we stayed.
7. Westgate Hotel= BARRY MANILOW (5/25 at 8pm) - price, a tad less than $80/person, and/but due to low attendance - the show wanted folks all along the front row, we were given (free) 2 seats on the front row at middle of the stage and Barry right above us - and I love dancing, and with a 12 yr old with her mother sitting next to us the 12 yr old (encouraged by her mother) stood up and we fast danced at the stage and Barry looked down and smiled at us and gave us a thumps up!!!!
8. LV, The Strip, FREMONT = Many Thousands of BARS, SHOWS, Eateries, and near naked women and men
9. Security, everywhere and not knowing where - but it is there
10. Hotels/bars/shows, maybe a million
11. Rental car from airport when we arrived Monday and happily, VCR behind the wheel.
12. Bedtime for us - between 10pm and Midnight,

Check out LV High School golden grad pix on FB= Vicki-Dawn Rader

That is a really neat idea to have the Alums sitting with the new grads!

Sound like you have an awesome time.
