5.2 mile run for me. Bike commuting, probably 17ish miles total.

Bike commuting seems like a great way to be fit.
Parent - - By Xtreme Taper Date 2018-05-16 6:25 AM
I'm thinking you could squeeze 5.5 out of that route if you really tried. Nice early run anyway, and enjoy the bike commute.

I will run later today, after work, some trails with the Lady. Might be rainy? Wet week on tap. Looking to get 6-7 miles of trogging at BBQ pace.
Parent - By noquitter [us] Date 2018-05-16 6:30 AM
Hope your run is not too rainy. Does Lady mind running in the rain?

He does that fairly regularly and yes it's cool.

easyish 8 miles with a coworker at lunch. Mild and sunny, with a bit of fog and mist still lingering up by the lake. Ran on some trails and got honked at by a lady in a car, so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

Nothing today except a soup and salad bar. It wasn't raining that hard, but enough so I just didn't feel it.

Another late run. I made it though. 4.4 hilly miles. Not as fast as I'd like.

I got a late start because i ended up working late and then talking to DD on the phone.

My husband has planned in great detail a family trip to Florida (probably the last one we'll ever take as a family). He planned it around DD's college and work schedule so she could come. i had to make a special request to get off work because of the week chosen.   DD tells me there is a concert (just announced) she really wants to see here that very week. I told her that the family vacation was not going to be rescheduled for a rap concert.

What concert?

Nice run!

Taught spin class & then swam 1200 meters.  Making up some time in the pool for yesterday's missed swim.

Yesterday it was in the upper 80s.  Today it won' get warmer than 67 :wtf:

:cool::cool: Patio looks good!
Parent - By Ed [us] Date 2018-05-16 9:10 AM
Thanks!

The wind, preceding & during the thunderstorm last night, brought down (hopefully all of the remaining) another billion helicopter thingies so it (and my grass) are covered in them yet again    When it (if ever) stops raining and dries up I can use a leaf blower to remove most of them from the patio but many have found new crevices to sit in since the sand between the pavers was washed away yesterday and can't be redone until it's dry out.

I ran further than The Beard.

And his Dailies lack any sort of creativity or imagination.

I enjoyed it! I don't have anything to compare it to though. :)

I had Tai, Nam -- I could do with less noodles. I had a whole mess of those left. : pbbt:

I will run 7 miles tonight. Likely in the rain. I had a 6pm mtg in NYC last night so I got to drive in the city in a crazy thunderstorm. Then it took 2 hours to get home when it should have taken 45 minutes. So I got home late and I was exhausted. All of that to say that I would only have gotten 5 hours of sleep max if I got up to run before work today so I decided to get a few more minutes of sleep instead.

Happy Hump Day!

I ended up getting in around 6 last night. The storms pushed through before the work day ended and tornado watches were cancelled.

7 or 8 tonight. I have a massage at 1 and hope it helps my hamstring feel better.

McDuff had his echo-cardiogram this morning and all was normal :hug::hug: Such a relief. He did not like the 16 hour fast and harassed me periodically during the night..climbing on me and nibbling on me to get up and get him some FOOD!!! They said he was a good boy during the echo though a bit of a wiggle worm  He was so happy to get home and get fed!! No clue why he had the little episode.. I'm just glad he is okay.
Parent - By Beastie Girl [us] Date 2018-05-16 9:39 AM
Glad to hear about McDuff! Also glad you both survived the 16 hour fast. : pbbt:

Hope the massage helps the hammy!

4 miles this morning and will go to boxing class tonight.  I have been having "constitutional" issues the past few days....more than normal, especially on my runs.....and it has been annoying.   I was trying to figure what may be causing this issue and the only different thing I have consumed over the same timeframe, daily, was a quinoa salad which also had quite a bit of lentils in it.  I very rarely eat lentils, so I suspect they may be culprit.

Last AP exam for the boy today....Economics.  He told me he really didn't study for it because Economics is "just manipulating graphs".  (Sounds like he attends Trump University!) I told him that since he was lazy, if he doesn't score well on the test, he will repay me the $100 I paid for him to take the test.  He asked me what I could possibly know about Economics and was a bit taken back when I told him I have a degree in Economics. I think I will buy a couple of nice bottles of wine with my $100......

6 mile run. blah.

I work from home, which is terrific. during the school year I work from 5-6am, then get my kid up and ready for school between 6-7, run at around 7 and am back working by 8:30 or so (depending on how long I run). With work we have Skype etc. So I emailed someone this morning and they called me at 6am-I didn't exactly bite her head off, but I was kind of shocked. She could have emailed me, Skype messaged me. It just seems wildly inappropriate to call at that time-even if she thought I was on Eastern time, 7am is pretty early to call a cell phone. so weird.
Parent - - By Beastie Girl [us] Date 2018-05-16 12:36 PM
6 or even 7am is super early and weird unless it's your boss or something :wtf:
Parent - By donnasaur [us] Date 2018-05-16 1:06 PM
I have had calls with my boss that early, buy usually we connect and agree beforehand. It was just really weird.
Parent - By redraider0528 (Fashionista) Date 2018-05-16 12:55 PM
Oh wow, that is early! :shocker!:

About 8 years ago (before I retired) I got a call on our land line at home on a weekday at 7:05am :shocker!: and  :wtf:   I was actually a bit late leaving for work that morning.  It was a college roommate (school teacher, before he left home for school that morning) wanting to schedule getting together with me a month later when he would be in Philly for training.   It was actually good to hear from him & we did get together for a Phillies game when he was in town.  However, I made sure he knew my cell phone number after that and evenings were a much better time to call

4 mile run this morning. Felt tougher than it should have. Walked a lot of dogs, including the little mofo who bit me yesterday. Usually he's fine, but the owner recently went through a divorce, he son moved away for a job, and she just moved to an apartment. So the dog (a westie) is upset and nervous lately. Can't blame him! The house saga continues, had the chimney inspected this morning and the main sewer line, this afternoon. Of course they found lots of roots. Maybe it's easier not to move.:wtf:

4 miles at noon.

Tapering for Fargo on Saturday so just an easy jaunt around the city. The campus is dead now that the students are gone. We’ll see a few more in a bit as summer classes start up.

Our son received two job offers yesterday from the interviews he had on Monday. He will probably take the one that will bring them back closer to us, but he and his wife need to finalize that decision. It’s great that he found something really good so soon so they can start planning and not be worrying.
