This is the first one of these in quite awhile, so I guess in that sense it is surprising.
nothing surprises me in baseball anymore...nothing

Like tom, nothing surprises me in baseball anymore. Although I'm buying that it was *just* a diuretic which is banned because of masking rather than a directly performance enhancing substance. Doesn't excuse it.

I definitely believe it was a diuretic which masks, I don't buy the idea that it was 'accidentally' used.

He didn't say it was an accident - he said he didn't know it was on the list.

That's an $11 million mistake.

$10.3, I believe, but yep. If I took anything more than a tylenol, I'd be checking the list.

It's not that hard to be careful. When my kid was running collegiately, they not only had a list but counseling about NCAA rules and I'm sure it's the same or even more educational in the pros because of the stakes. For example, my kid knew that he could drink Muscle Milk as a recovery drink because even with its jillions of chemicals, it was on the NCAA cleared list unlike other things sold at GNC and other over-the-counter outlets. Like you say, if it's anything other than tylenol, check the damn list.

Sorry if I implied that. What I meant is that I do not believe he accidentally took a masking agent. I believe he knew what he was taking.
I'll tell you who must have quit PED's....Encarnacion! What a loser....the sooner he gets back on the juice the better.
