I watched the movie "Baby Driver" yesterday. It's about a young adult Heist driver.
There is a flashback scene when he was a toddler and gets and iPod as present.
I was 24 when the iPod came out :meh::cry::laugh:

Curious, did they use the Simon & Garfunkel song? :mutmad:
Parent - - By Tommeke Date 2018-05-08 6:49 AM
They sure did :shocker!:
The story is a driver who listens to music all the time, so the movie has an impressive music score.
Parent - - By blazer85 [us] Date 2018-05-08 9:12 AM
And, every single action in the movie is to the beat of the music.
Parent - - By Tommeke Date 2018-05-09 10:25 AM
I actually didn't like the movie
Wonder why it got such a high review score, it was a solid 5/10 for me :wtf:
Parent - By blazer85 [us] Date 2018-05-09 3:26 PM
I didn't think the movie itself was that great either.  That said, I enjoyed the cinematic things like how everything was to the beat of the music, the way color was used to symbolize certain things and various things in the background such as signs, reflections and how other people moved.  And Jon Hamm. I love me some Jon Hamm!

Parent - - By N70SAK Date 2018-05-08 8:08 AM
Phrasing?

I finally started watching Archer and fell in love with it.
Parent - - By Tommeke Date 2018-05-08 9:05 AM
I watched the first couple of seasons which were really funny, but somehow lost interest.
I'm working on Seinfeld as of now, season 2 in the making

Watching Seinfeld re-runs another sign

Looking at Jerry's shoes and thinking, "I had those in 7th grade."
Parent - By Tommeke Date 2018-05-08 10:00 AM
At least Seinfeld is pretty old already.
Here they are using an iPod to show "their childhood"

Also, my parents didn't have enough money to buy me any of the shoes Seinfeld is wearing

The boy had an end of year exam on which there would be an essay question about Hamlet. Since he read Hamlet in the first semester, I asked if he planned on looking at the Cliff Notes as a review. He rolled his eyes at me in the manner an 18 yo does when their parent is SO CLUELESS and said......"You mean SparkNotes?":roll:

Only us old people used Cliff Notes to understand Shakespeare......now the kids use SparkNotes. same thing, sexier name

CliffsNotes (formerly Cliffs Notes, originally Cliff's Notes and often, erroneously, CliffNotes) are a series of student study guides available primarily in the United States. The guides present and explain literary and other works in pamphlet form or online

Parent - - By Tommeke Date 2018-05-09 10:43 AM
Now I know what Cliff Notes are
Apparently both still exist but seems like many people prefer spark.

You mean you now know what "Cliff Notes" aren't?

Everytime (and its getting much more frequent) that something comes out of my mouth that sounds just like my dad.  And I'm now frequently told how much like him I am!!!!!

The fact that I tell stories (see comment above, its a genetic thing) that start with "Years ago.............."

The fact that I now am somewhat more fond of Bush the First.

I have employees who were in grade school when I started working here.

The fact that I can rattle on this much about the signs I'm getting old, but I'm feeling it this week.  The doctor put me on Lipitor- My BP is in normal range but as a 50 something w/ Diabetes (and a family history) the numbers are not in my favor. WTF!!!!!

OK back to curring my mudgeon!

There are people working here that were not alive when I started here.
