40 min in water about 48 I think The sun was out and I got a little sunburn on my face. :shocker!: Had a great time talking and laughing with my gals, seriously, I don't think I've laughed so hard in a long time!

Going to nap now then bake for the party I'm having tonight. One friend is gluten, dairy and soy free, so I'm going to make come snickerdoodles that fit that requirement. Wish me luck!!

Enjoy the party! Recipe for the snickerdoodles? I'm always looking for ideas that are GF, DF, and SF.... having all these and more often makes it hard to get new things on the table!

The cookies were amazing. Even the gluten eating folks preferred them over the toll house chocolate chip ones! I think the light coconut flavor really made the cookies!

Good news, and congratulations! I'll now have to try these....

Enjoy your party!

Just FYI, Earth Balance makes soy free, gluten free, non-dairy buttery sticks (i.e. vegan butter).  The regular ones (yellow box) are vegan, but contain soy.  The soy free ones are in a red box and you should be able to find them at Whole Foods.  I personally haven't used the soy free ones, but their regular non-dairy "butter" is the go-to for most vegan cooks and bakers.

Seconding the Earth Balance SF, GF, DF vegan butter in a red-pink tub (I've not used the sticks). It works wonderfully for baking as well as an "oil" when melted for a few seconds in the micro.

I've used earth balance before for a dairy free freind, didn't realize they make a soy free one too. This friend said that she has to be careful of oils since many of them have something else she's allergic to (palm?) so this time around I'll stick to coconut oil, which I know is ok and I already have.

I'm sure she appreciates your willingness to make food she can eat.

It's too early to be tired for next week, isn't it?  Can't seem to catch a break.  A may have a port infection (yes, again) that could require an ER visit and possible hospitalization, but waiting on a call back from the infectious disease doctor.  Which is all (not) fine and (not) good except that she has an appointment with a specialist in [other city] bright and early on Monday morning.  She's been on the schedule for close to a year to get this appointment, so it can't be rescheduled and can't be missed.  This doc is basically her last hope for ideas to deal with her GI problems.  I have volunteered to drive her because A can't drive very far on her own, Mom isn't up to doing much driving either, and Dad can drive but he's not terribly useful for understanding what a doctor says and taking notes.  Assuming the possible infection doesn't derail everything, I need to do about a half-dozen errands and end up at A's house tomorrow evening so we can leave her house around 5am on Monday.  In ideal conditions, it's about 2.5 hours each way to get to the doctor, but there are supposed to be thunderstorms all day Monday. :meh:  Then China sis and family will be back probably Tuesday evening (and staying until they find a place to rent) and surgeon sis will be in town this coming weekend.

Oh, and I'm already tired because I worked all day today and am planning to do a long run tomorrow morning.

:cry::meh:
As always, ooof. I hope things go as smoothly as can be expected with A's appointments, and that for everyone's sake she doesn't have a port infection. I know I could certainly never handle all you do - I have enough trouble just keeping myself, my physical body, and crazy brain together, forgetting about helping everyone else in the family as you do!

dang I'm tired for you

I ran a very slow 15 miles this morning.  Being slow sucks, but my legs were tired.  It's nice to get out and run anyway.  It was fairly overcast, but the rain held off until after I was done.  Unfortunately it seems that I will be spending an awful lot of time driving in the rain over the next couple of days.

How is A doing? Is she going to make her appt tomorrow?
Parent - By swandive Date 2018-04-22 12:04 PM
She's doing ok.  There's something weird going on with the cultures so she may have an infection, but has no physical symptoms of an infection so she has an ok from her doctors to just keep an eye on things for now, so we're planning to go to the Monday appointment.

2 hour synchro workout. Ran the routine with music and it is really coming together. The coach video taped, so I hope she sends it to us and I can see if it is as together as I think

Yesterday I think I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. About an hour before my friends came over, I sneeze and leaked a little (something that NEVER happens to me) so I went into the bedroom to change and clean up.  Then I was struck by serious abdominal pain, from navel to pubic bone. I didn't want to move out of a lying down face down position. I tried to get up twice and get dressed and couldn't. I was trying to decide if I should call my BFF who was due over shortly after, and ask her to take me to the ER. But I couldn't even move.  I was there for about 15 min and started feeling a tiny bit better. So I got up, put on the loosest clothes I could and tried to push through it.  About 10 min after that, I sat down and felt the pain exactly where it was two years ago when I had the bad cyst. The general pain was dissipated enough that I could feel the specific pain and it was exactly the same.  Knowing that this wasn't going to kill me, I kept pushing, and by the time I went to bed, I was fine.  So strange.  So, so strange. It does make me wonder, once again, if I should consider surgery on my right ovary (it is the problematic one). I've felt it ovulate since I was a teen. I wonder if going off oral contraceptives has changed things. My IUD has hormone, but perhaps not enough?

 on the cyst.  At least you know what it is and were able to manage without going to the ER.

ouch! how is it now?
Parent - By reebs (chicken whisperer) Date 2018-04-23 12:24 PM
I'm 100% fine.  It was so weird.

7 miles - 60 degrees and sunshine. 25 miles this week! Yay! Definitely getting the 2nd tri energy boost.

Some of the forumites from L&O met up in center city Philly for brunch yesterday. A few ran a marathon in DE this morning - I think they are all gunning for 50 states and are somewhere in the 30s? Anyway, was fun to meet them! P came with and didn't have any meltdowns, but did run in circles for 1.5 hours at brunch, so chasing her was fun  Good thing she is so cute!

Fun that you got to meet up with some L&O people!
