This may be the first Super Bowl in memory that I don't watch.  Partly because I'm going to a funeral shortly before, but I also don't really care  much.

That said, I'd be delighted to see the Pats lose, of course.

How about I'll be cheering if my sweetie fixes me a nice dinner and we watch a movie instead.
Parent - - By tahoeblue (spamkiller) Date 2018-02-02 2:46 PM
I'm planning on watching as I've seen every minute of every Super Bowl played.  I realize it's not much of a claim to fame, but we have to cling onto whatever morsels we have.

If a big enough meteor hits and we’re all vaporized, there won’t be any pressure to keep that streak alive. Just sayin’.

I'll have to cross that bridge when I get to it - until then, I'll be glued to the tube on Sunday

The entire NFL season has been a let down this year - just a lot of crappy games. It would be great to see the Patriots lose but I honestly don't care one way or the other.

If my son didn't want to watch the game i doubt that I would even be tuning in.
Parent - By Tim [us] Date 2018-02-02 5:06 PM
You won’t need to tune in if a meteor hits your house (and your Honda). Just sayin’.

It's a good thing that Tom Brady still has some un-ringed fingers. ::grin:

Must be God's will

Cleveland Browns. Oops. Yeah. I still have a few decades left to live.
Parent - By SRoo Date 2018-02-02 4:24 PM
 <--referring to the heartbreak of rooting for Cleveland, not for your expected lifespan. : pbbt:

And that’s why I will always despise the Baltimore Ravens.
Parent - By SRoo Date 2018-02-02 7:25 PM
Yes!  When the Browns left Cleveland, I was left with no one for which to root.  I had teams to dislike (Steelers, Ravens, Broncos), but that was it.  By the time Cleveland got a team, I had discovered that Sunday afternoons could be spent doing any number of things that did not involve football.

Patriots.

Aside from voting against the Pats, I also like the Eagles as a Steelers fan. Fly Eagles Fly!

It's time for the Patriots reign to end & it couldn't be done by a better team than the EAGLES!
Parent - - By Tim [us] Date 2018-02-02 5:08 PM
You’ve abandoned your North Jersey roots Ed. Shameful.

24 years there vs. 40+ years here.  It wears on you!
Parent - - By Tim [us] Date 2018-02-03 7:19 AM
16 years here (20 if you count college) and 24 there, but I will always be a Giants fan first and a Pats fan second. Baseball is another story. Fully converted Red Sox fan.
Parent - By Ed [us] Date 2018-02-03 10:24 AM
The 4 years in college were part of the 24...and college was in the Bronx!
Parent - By cutter [us] Date 2018-02-07 3:31 PM
In a similar situation. I've lived in MN longer than I lived in WI, but I will always be a Packer fan. Though I converted to a Twins fan. I wasn't a huge baseball fan as a kid.

Going in I didn’t really care who won but, man, it was satisfying seeing the Patriots lose.

That was a helluva game. :shocker!:

I just saw the first half and it was very enjoyable.
The BBC broadcasted it, the game itself was covered by NBC, but since the BBC doesn't have all the commercial intermissions, they switched over to 3 commentators that discussed the plays while the game was moot.
It went up and down, some great throws and catches, some cool trick plays.
Can't believe they missed so much kicks though. I've actually never seen a game where they missed these sort of kicks.

I do feel like the Pats got a serious hit with losing Cooks early on in the game.
I don't get the hate though.

Justin Timberlake went The Beard on it and wore a neckerchief
Parent - - By The Beard (is wearing Arm Panties) [us] Date 2018-02-05 8:26 AM
He also wore a pair of these Air Jordan IIIs.

They are based on Tinker Hatfield's original sketches for the shoe's design. They were made available right after the halftime performance and sold out in 3.23 seconds. Retail price was $200 but resellers were immediately asking $2-3k.:shocker!::shocker!:
Parent - - By elmtree Date 2018-02-05 12:00 PM
A co-workers kid got a pair.  He'll probably sell them for around $2500.
Parent - - By The Beard (is wearing Arm Panties) [us] Date 2018-02-05 12:50 PM
It's CRAZY.

That said, they are pretty cool. I like them better than the Tinker Hatfield's that will be coming out on 3/24
Parent - - By elmtree Date 2018-02-05 4:42 PM
This kid pays for roughly half of his tuition at DePaul using money he makes from selling shoes.  It's INSANE.
Parent - By The Beard (is wearing Arm Panties) [us] Date 2018-02-05 6:17 PM
My office mate is similar. He’s made some very good buys/resells.
Parent - - By triplejake (The Vampire Lestat) [us] Date 2018-02-05 9:44 AM
I thought that was one of the worst halftime shows in recent memory.  JT is a fun performer, but it was all pretty unmemorable.
Parent - - By insistor (needs a bigger dick) Date 2018-02-05 10:18 AM
I agree. It felt like he spent more time walking around randomly shouting "Hey!" "Get up!" and "Minneapolis" than actual singing
Parent - By triplejake (The Vampire Lestat) [us] Date 2018-02-05 10:22 AM
The "Minneapolis" shouting was particularly weird since the television audience obviously dwarfed that in the stadium, and even those in the stadium were largely from elsewhere.
