8.25 at our nearby National Wildlife Refuge, Santa Ana. It's a great place to run, except it's very lonely. I hardly see anyone except Border Patrol agents there, and today, I didn't even see them. DH came along and got in his steps walking while I did my run (the refuge doesn't allow bikes
) He saw quite a few birds and some javelinas. I saw a lot of birds with my peripheral vision, but I had to force myself not to look because that's how I trip and fall
When we finished, I got out my binoculars, and wouldn't you know, we couldn't find any
It was another 45 degree morning, so shorts and long sleeves and again, no gloves
. Gawd, that first mile was chilly. So was part of the second mile
. Then I finally got in my groove and the miles, 8 of them, clipped by pretty well. No stopping or slowing, so a good, sustained, kick-ass effort. Tomorrow is supposed to be awfully windy, so I'm glad to have the miles in the bank today and look forward to being a sloth on Thursday. LR will probably be Saturday.
