Happy New Year folks.

I was asleep by 10 last night.

Thermometer reads 0.4° but my 5k isn't for 2 more hours so there is hope to "warm up" before then.

Happy New Year Masters.

Because I ALWAYS have to have worse weather than Dave....drum roll please: -19*,  -35* windchill.   Off to Happy Tails.  If the car starts.

Good luck with your 5k - great start to your 2018 mileage!!!!

-27 WC here. You win the cold but in my defense I had a frozen ocean. Danny had to make a few passes to get close in to the dock to pick me up

I was in bed by 10:00 last night too.  Makayla and her boyfriend were in the living room watching NYE celebrations on TV.  I woke up this morning with a nearly empty "champagne bottle" of non-alcoholic grape juice on the kitchen table.  18 year olds celebrating New Years.

No run yet.  I'll get out there later.

It's 5 windchill, but at least we are not at -35 like those poor souls in Illinois.

And I here I am debating whether I should bundle up and go out for my walk.

Ran the 5k at a brisk pace but not an all out effort. It was between 7° and 10° at the time of the race. Only a little breeze, but it made a big difference whether you facing the wind or had you back to it.

No results posted yet so I don't know my place.  They awarded top 5 men and top 5 women. No age groups.

They had a raffle for a bunch of odds & ends. They must have called 20-30 bib numbers. Of course, mine was not one of them.  I never get picked for a raffle prize.

Garmin: 28:03 - 8:55, 9:06, 8:58, 1:03 (3.12 miles).

Happy new year!

I was in bed by 9. David had to work today.

Christmas is down and boxed up! It's a balmy 20* with a feels like of 8. I'm going for a run soon.

I think Josh fractured his foot.   maybe. small pain and a bruise. he can put pressure on it.

Happy New Year.  What happened to Josh?
Parent - By runnergeel [us] Date 2018-01-01 1:11 PM
he hit his bed with his foot. there is a bruise around the site he hit. it is also swollen under the bruise. he can put weight on it but it hurts to walk. sigh.

I ran 8 miles with -2 windchill.  The sun is out so that might have helped a little.  Probably not.  It was cold.
Parent - By runnergeel [us] Date 2018-01-01 1:11 PM
 that sun helped for sure
Parent - By runnergeel [us] Date 2018-01-01 1:15 PM
I ran 4.44 miles. Trying to keep things even. I think this is the first time I"ve run the new year for at least 2 years. trying to bring in some luck!

cold indeed. Not as cold as super D or mooseman  a "feels like" of 7. some wind and lots of sun. it was good. I  broke a sweat.

Happy New Year everyone. We spent New Years with friends. A nice dinner and just hanging out. Once the ball dropped we all headed home. None of us more than a couple blocks away. looks everyone is having brutal weather. Here in central FL. is chilly ( 48 ) drizzly and windy. I worked out at home since the rec centers are closed. Tomorrow back on the bike. I decided to try and return to some run / walk. we'll see how the cranky knee and hip respond to easy runs.
Have a great day and stay warm everyone.
