Last Friday of 2017 and I almost wrote 2018! Getting ahead of myself.
What are your New Years Eve Plans?
Ran 3.1 at the almost empty gym this morning. I was the only person on a row of 20 treadmills. No one was on the row of ellipticals in front of me or the row stationary bikes in front of that. I could see 2 people over in the weights and 2 upstairs on elliptical machines.
No New Year's plans. After all the talk of cinnamon rolls at Christmas, I bought some Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. I'll make them sometime over the weekend but I am not sure what day yet.
The local running store has packet pickup tomorrow for the New Year's Day 5k. I'll head down to pick-up my stuff so when I go to the race I don't have to get out of my car until the last minute. It is going to be single digits Monday morning. While I'm at the store I'll probably do some shopping. I don't need any shoes but I am open to some if I see a good deal. Maybe they'll have some gloves/mittens that are better than what I currently use.
Oh cinnamon rolls sound good. The Rhodes ones are good also.
Good job on the 3.1 miles!
The windchill stayed in the teens overnight so I got up at 4;30, had coffee then ran 8 miles. The past two mornings windchill has been in single digits and I opted for an afternoon run.
I received an email last night for bus drivers to let their buses run for 30-50 minutes this morning. I'm at the school with my bus running.
Basketball game this afternoon between Louisville and Kentucky is on CBS. I'll watch and hope the Cards win. After the game, life will continue as usual, win or lose.
We will meet at the church for games and snacks and fellowship for New Years Eve. Probably will be home long before midnight. We've never been party goers at New Years.

Thanks for the heads up on the Louisville Kentucky game. I don't watch much tv but I do love good college hoops.
I got up at 5:30 by mistake; read the clock wrong. Thought it was 6:30. But I didn't go out for a run/walk, dang it!
Wanted to go this afternoon for a PW; but something else came up.
Good morning Masters! Misha and I've done a mile; mostly at the park. Then I shoveled everything except the drive way. We had a couple inches of snow overnight and 3 to 6 more predicted today. It hasn't started up again yet and I like to keep after it. My husband is of the other opinion which is not to shovel until it's done. So he can do the dang driveway when it's shin deep
Our usual NYE is to get together with 2 neighbor couples downtown for and early dinner of Mexican food and then return to one of our houses to chat and ring in the new year. Of the other 2 couples; one had his 2nd hip replacement of the season just 2 weeks ago and he is not entirely mobile yet. Especially in snow and ice. And the other couple's mom is in the hospital with flu/dehydration. I'm thinking tho that there will be a small window of opportunity that we can at least get some carry out and chat for a little while. Probably none of us are staying up until Midnight though.
Funny how our bodies acclimate - we have been around zero degrees for almost a week and today we are at 12. It really feels balmy.
There is no wind so no windchill.
I'm going to head out and run for 20 minutes or so. It will be a challenge to find dry pavement so no mileage goals. Might just run up and down a snow route a couple times.

she ended up staying overnight but is in the hands of a very competent doctor. She's got 2 follow up appointment with specialists. We are hopeful.
Morning Masters from beautiful Black Mountain. Cold here too. We were late arrivals as I spent way too much time coordinating code purple this week. It's been more challenging with many volunteers away. Lots of emails, texts and calls. Now for grandkids time. I haven't run all week. I feel it.
New Years is no big plans. Perhaps a movie with kids.

Your house must be Crazy Town with a wedding a day away. Blessings to Lizzie and her almost husband.
New Years Eve and 1/1/2018 - hang out with family
C Ya Later.
I’m working NYE. I have NY Day off. KY beat UL in basketball but we lost our football bowl game by 1point. Today we literally had to break up ice to get to the boat ramp at the marina. If this below zero weather persists and our Cove freezes up I’m going to have to stay in the city until it breaks.
Be safe Dottie. And stay warm!
