We ordered this for our son.

Of course he made a list and will be getting a number of things from it but we always like to get a couple/few things that he's not expecting. This falls in the "not expecting" category.

Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?

We’ve already watched it once this holiday season.
Parent - By Blueberry Sky Date 2017-12-06 5:11 PM
I've watched it twice.
And probably have one more viewing, I'd guess. : pbbt:
Parent - - By Mookiethedog Date 2017-12-06 11:04 AM
I thought this meant you wanted us to send one of our gifts in the mail/post.  Damn English heritage.
Parent - - By The Beard (is wearing Arm Panties) [us] Date 2017-12-06 11:29 AM
I don't want anything from Canada.
Parent - By Mookiethedog Date 2017-12-06 12:14 PM
Damn....I was going to send you the Biebs
Parent - - By newfmrs Date 2017-12-06 11:21 AM
I'm giving myself foot and calf surgery.  Seems sad that this is the best way to get a break from watching the kids : pbbt:.

All boring gifts this year like clothes, shoes, and some toys (mostly toy cars.)  Also got my oldest a TV since she's moving out the dorm into an apartment as well as a printer.  I did buy her boyfriend an ugly christmas sweater that I sent to him already so he could wear it to a party.
Parent - - By The Beard (is wearing Arm Panties) [us] Date 2017-12-06 11:29 AM
What kind of toy cars?
Parent - - By newfmrs Date 2017-12-06 11:49 AM
Well actually now that you mention it, DH gifted himself some software update and intake change for the Golf R because you know, it needed to go faster.  I drove it afterwards and was trying to pass someone on a two lane road and accidentally was going over 100 mph .  My main thought was shit if I get pulled over now it's probably so excessive I could lose my license.

As a random driving note, the people in FL drive so much faster than I expected.  Not what I thought would be the case when we moved here with so many retirees.  I guess most think they need speedy luxury cars and I see them all turning into the 55+ communities (as well as some higher end neighborhoods.)
Parent - - By Tommeke Date 2017-12-06 12:10 PM
I know someone with a Golf R and he too is going for the software update once the guaranty period runs out.
'cause 318 HP is better than 300 HP, right :laugh:
Parent - By newfmrs Date 2017-12-06 3:03 PM
I'm sure it was worth it:roll:.

I typically drive a mini van so anything is an upgrade

My 20 year old, college student daughter drove her car up onto a curb and popped two of her tires.  She got an early Christmas gift of two new tires.  I may be kind and get her a Starbucks gift card so she has something to open on Christmas morning.

:laugh::laugh:
Parent - By jennyO Date 2017-12-08 12:37 PM
I have done that!
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-12-13 3:45 PM
Aren't you glad you don't have to wrap the tires?
Parent - By neustkg (Important) Date 2017-12-14 7:18 AM
Luckily she didn't tweak the hub like I did a few years ago sliding (in snow) into a curb.  Was definitely more expensive to fix that replacing 2 tires.

My husband and I have a small limit gift policy this year.
He loves what we call fancy ham (jamon) from Spain. We can find it at Central Market and it's $189 a pound so he will buy several slices and it's $18.
Anyone else a ham connoisseur? Can I buy this product online?
Parent - - By blazer85 [us] Date 2017-12-08 12:15 PM
WTF?!  For Ham?!  Apparently you love your husband MUCH MORE than I love my husband.
Parent - By redraider0528 (Fashionista) Date 2017-12-08 2:25 PM
It's ridiculous. I'm looking for a better deal.
Parent - - By Elcontador [us] Date 2017-12-08 12:30 PM
This is probably jamon Ibérico.  You can get it in Spain and Portugal without much difficulty.  Am not sure about its availability here.
Parent - By redraider0528 (Fashionista) Date 2017-12-08 2:30 PM
Yes, that's it! It is amazing!
He fell in love with it in Spain several years ago but I'd just like to find it here cheaper. :)

Parent - - By redraider0528 (Fashionista) Date 2017-12-08 2:32 PM
TY!!!!!!!
Parent - - By Elcontador [us] Date 2017-12-08 3:26 PM
That's $30 for 2.5 ounces, shipped; it's close to the $180 per pound.
Parent - By elmtree Date 2017-12-08 3:33 PM
The chances of finding it cheaper are pretty slim, I'd think.
Parent - - By redraider0528 (Fashionista) Date 2017-12-08 3:33 PM
True. I like the ham of the month club but not enough to spend $30 a month. I think I'll just get him a few more slices at the local deli.: pbbt:
Parent - By elmtree Date 2017-12-08 3:37 PM
Check this out - might be something cheaper.

Oh wow, this is a better deal!
Ever tried any?
Parent - By elmtree Date 2017-12-08 5:13 PM
Not since I was actually *in* Spain years ago. I've had similar but not the actual stuff.  I may have to order some.
- By Elcontador [us] Date 2017-12-08 12:31 PM
I got my wife an expensive vacuum cleaner she wanted.  I got one of my cousins a gator head.  Named it 'Boudreaux.'

Jasz ? Hardwood?  Anyone else going?

Antique Corning Nesting Bowls.  We have a set that belongs to my wife, but the blue and red bowls shattered and the green bowl is very faded (don't wash these in the dishwasher folks).  Got a set on ebay for total of $60.

Trying to find a very nice wool cardigan sweater for her as well.  She has a favorite that she got as a gift years ago from Macy's and while it's still a favorite for her, it is pretty much worn out.  She's bought "replacements" over the years, but they haven't held up as well as her favorite.  Will probably have to go into Nordstroms, Macy's or Dillards.  I might assign that job to our oldest daughter (me paying of course) and make it a gift from the kids.
Parent - - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-12-14 10:31 AM
If I was looking for a wool cardigan sweater, I would probably try Land's End or Eddie Bauer or L.L. Bean.
Parent - By neustkg (Important) Date 2017-12-14 11:01 AM
I did look online at LL Bean and didn't find what she would want.  Will look at Eddie Bauer and Land's End.
- By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-12-14 10:32 AM
We are going in on a cord of wood for my mother who loves to have an open fire. $165 delivered -- worth it especially since DS and DSBF can split it for her with a maul and their newly acquired toy, a 10 pound sledgehammer.
