6.2 miles for me.
This is becoming your trademark. Good job for a weekday!
Yeah, I noticed you bumped the weekday runs up a mile!

I have. It's mostly because I'm hoping to beat a couple of other year's mileage totals.
I'm at 917.5 currently.
The two years that I'm aiming for are 1001 and 1041. I'll have no trouble hitting the 1001 mark and should be able to beat the 1041 mark as well.
I really ramped it up later in the year. I had PF in the first part and only had run 29 miles at the end of April. May was a month of slowly easing back into running.
Wow, that's awesome!
No run today. Cranky knee syndrome while walking around Longwood Gardens last night. I guess that's what I get for running 5 days in a row, albeit short runs. I will visit the planet of fitness this evening for some weights and perhaps scowling and sweating on the bike to nowhere.
Run yesterday around the lake with the Lady was nice. Great weather, warm and breezy with small white caps on the lake. The horsey back folk were out in force. I saw a half a dozen of them.
Why did you run 5 days in a row?
Why did you run 5 days in a row?
The weather was nice.
I like being outdoors with the Lady.
I still think I am my old self from 2 years ago.
I am stubborn and a bit stupid.
I want to throttle you.
Only because I want you to heal up good so you can spend time with your old self again
I ran four days in a row on my first week back running a few weeks ago and it was not smart. We be dumb.
I only made it 4 days in a row then I had to take a rest day. Was the 60K only 2 weeks (not even) ago? Seems like it was months ago, but my body keeps reminding me that it wasn't.

7.1 miles with 6x 1 min hard / 2 minutes easy. Wanted 8-10 but I wasn't feeling perky today and knew the last few would be straight into the wind so I stopped at 6.
13.8 miles - Ran to work this morning.

A decent run today, will find out more when I get home & plug the watch into the computer. Took another swing at a Strava segment which I currently am tied for the best time, so hoping I took at least one second off & I think I might have. Had some fun going over a bridge that has a sign with something like 'NO PEDESTRIANS ON THE BRIDGE. USE WALKWAY.' and less than halfway across I heard a siren. I figured if the Emeryville police had nothing better to do than stop a runner I would face the music. Turns out the siren was not for me. Was pleased to see one of the last couple of miles was in the low 8's pace wise.

Took ten seconds off that segment rather than one!

All ready to run in my brand new shoes, the kid texted today inviting me and mrs. flamus to lunch at a great burger place a couple blocks from my office. The new shoes will wait until tomorrow.
6.5 miles for me. Coaching hoops practice tonight.
Good run for a long weekday

Howdy! I'm trying to ramp up my Boston training, and I'll try to get on here more frequently. I hope you're well.
Yeah, moving forward.

Record so far this year is 0 wins, 3 losses. But the girls are smiling. And that was against teams from a higher division (part of a tournament). Regular season starts this Sunday. Game time 8:00 a.m.
5 miles with one friend
Guess I should've gone the extra mile.
Now you know what the plan is.
I find my weekday runs are always shorter.
Yeah, we typically do 5, I just saw the two posts ahead of me were 6.
Funny, two of the usual couldn't go then this a.m. another one bailed (too cold) so then E texted to tell me she could run later if I wanted to cancel too. I was already dressed and now so glad we got it done. It was a challenging route. I got 14 floors on the run.
14 floors? Like hills you mean. I do some crazy hills on the trails around here.
Well, this route in particular has a lot of incline, some sharp, some just long and slow. I don't know if they compare to the hills you're doing.
Anyway, I wear a garmin vivoactive and it tracks floors. It's just crazy to get 14. I have to go up and down my stairs like 5 times to get 1.
I'm glad you didn't bail.

SDO for me today. This means early morning tomorrow to get a short run and weights done unless I change my mind and go to the gym tonight.
I ran 4 last night with some other runners in the group who were like minded on needing more than 3 miles
Glad you got the 4 in!
Do weights tonight so you have more time to run tomorrow!
(Home) gym day today. 10K meters rowing and yoga later today. I'm taking care of my neighbor's duck and chickens again for a few days, so I get duck eggs again!
I'm so happy about that! Going to walk dogs soon. Is it Friday yet?
That's a LONG way on the rower.
I am terrible at it.
It took me 50 minutes the other day.
But I wear my headphones, put music on, and get my zen on. I only do it once or twice a week, great total body workout.
Wowzers. It's such a good workout but just rowing 1,000m nearly kills me. I need to do it more often.

I hear rowing is #2 behind running for burning calories. I've never used a rowing machine.
It's a tough workout! I have a Concept2 rower, love it! There are a lot of videos on the internet on form and stuff, and I picked up a book when I started a few years ago. I think Puddle Thumper also has the same rower.
They'd beat chicken eggs by six minutes in a 5K.
Back to the usual 4 miles on the usual trail. Around 50 degrees, clear and still. I wore gloves today, but didn't need them.
Saw three other runners, which is unusual at that hour.
I wore gloves too ... had to take them off halfway through.
At least you were prepared for any unexpected arctic blasts.
I tend to wear gloves at 50 and then end up taking them off.
2017-11-30 5:00 PM
At least the other runners were whole this time - no half runners.
2017-11-30 8:30 AM
2.84 with mrbarney and the doggos. saw 2 bunnies, and 1 other runner.
2017-11-30 8:57 AM
much better than Tuesday - but cold! I need to pick up some new gloves since mine are packed away somewhere
Yes, it helps me to start warmish and comfortable and then shed if I need to.
You got out there and that's good for all of you.

I hope the dogs gave chase! I mean, chased the rabbits...
We have a zillion rabbits in my neighborhood. Drives my dogs crazy!

Gym day for me.
Gym days are necessary (I think).
yesterday was SDO because I was in class from 8:30-5. I'll be heading out for 5-6 in about half an hour, and will do some squats/pushups/plank ab things after. I have a dr appt in the city at 12:30, which means I have to leave here by 11:45. I plan to take myself out to lunch after.
Enjoy the run, your appointment and lunch! What are you getting?
Run was great! 5.4 glorious trail miles. Running weather this week has been perfect - sunny, mid 40s-50, no wind. I'm going to a French bistro near where my appointment is. DH hates French food so this is my chance to indulge myself
sadly thanks to preggo ness, no champagne
No champagne at lunch should be easier than no champagne at dinner.
One set of hip exercises and a 2.2 mile walk so far. I intended to walk 2 miles over a neighborhood route I'd measured before but when I was almost home It seemed too quick so I thought it was short and diverted to a short loop around another block. Measured it (online tool) when I got home and found it wasn't short
Will do my other set of hip exercises & teach cycling class this evening.
Sore today since I spent 4-5 hours yesterday cleaning up leaves from the yard & lawn. I cleaned up the lawn last weekend but the yard hadn't been touched for >3 weeks and was a blanket of leaves! Raked them up & then mowed. 18 paper leaf bags + 3 trash barrels full of leaves & grass clippings! I commented to my wife last night that I was less sore than the last time I just cut the grass before hip surgery!
Yard work makes me sore too! Bagging leaves is the worst. You are recovering like a star
2017-11-30 11:41 AM
That is a lot of bagged leaves!
Didn't your surgeon give you a note to get out of lawn work for at least a year?

10 miles; 3 with the dog.
We are getting the weather recently that we should have had in October. Nice running weather!
Yesterday, I had one of those "fun" medical tests one must have when they are 50, so no exercise at all. That said, between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday noon, my cleanse resulted in a six pound weight loss! This confirms what my friends have known for years.....that I am typically full shit.
I wasn't sure about doing anything this morning, so I just did core work at home. I probably won't go to boxing class tonight as it is our 21st anniversary, so I will work on gaining my six pounds back at dinner.

And what sick sadistic jerk in a medical company decided to name that product "Golytely!!!!"
Managed 5 last night before dinner with a friend.
7 or 8 tonight after work.
I'll play today. My kid woke up with martyr syndrome, but she made up for when she opted to run 3 miles with me! This was the second time in a week. And I talked her into running the first race in a 4 race series with me, the first of which is on my mom's birthday (dec 10th), so I'm happy she is doing it with me as I might be a bit of an emotional mess or maybe not. I also picked up a new pair of running shoes. Asics discontinued my fabulous pattern/color Noosa Tri shoes
and the new Noosa's are nothing (per Asics reps) like the old ones, so I got some fairly tame though bright DS Trainers, the ones Asics said are closest to my beloved shoes.
2017-11-30 5:29 PM
I'm happy she's running!
2017-11-30 4:58 PM
7.75 miles posted in the basement.
Was only planning to do 5 miles but the woman who joined us had a workout scheduled for 6.25 miles. We copped out of the workout (fartleks) but went to the end of the path at the riverfront at a quicker than easy pace. I spent most of the afternoon banging my head against a problem only to find a super easy solution at the end of the day. I couldn't believe that I didn't think of it sooner.
2017-11-30 7:43 PM
Bit of spinning tonight.
3.75 mile Chinatown trudge- felt great even when I picked it up at the end. After the hill debacle in Seattle I'm realizing that I haven't been running hills at all so I'm gonna start adding them back into my work out. Since this run goes where the little cable car climbs halfway to the stars its good for that. Nice crisp clear night.
