Happy Thanksgiving to All!
Wednesday it was almost 32° with tiny balls of snow coming in with the wind a few at a time. It’s always so much fun running with snow falling. The park always gets scraped and treated in the winter so it’s great for running (even though I need to go round and round). It was not slippery at all.
Today I’m planning a run down in the park then going to visit DC.
Safe and happy runs, All!
Have a great run today
Yeah for unslippery running! Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
I hope you are having fun with DC.
Started the morning at Crossfit, they did a family workout so O joined me, couldn't convince DH. Taking the dogs out for 3ish miles soon. Then finishing cooking.
I'm glad you got a good workout in and it sounds like the dogs will be fit also.

Ran local Thanksgiving race. They have a 5K and a 10K. I chose the 10K strictly to burn more calories.
Ran it in 51:16 a very good time for me. It's a hillish course too. It's faster than I have run a 10K in 12 + years and 2:33 faster than last year. I got first in AG. Not a large field but you can't argue with first.
This solidifies my decision to dump the 5K permanently and focus on 10K-halfs. Not only is it where I do my best, it's where I have the most chance of improving with the right training.

Awesome job! Can't argue with 1st!!

Very fine finish!!
Not a run, but a 45 minute walk on the TM, some of it with inclines. PT stuff after.
Nice job using the incline!
Sounds like you are steadily improving!
Went hiking today with T-bone on the same trails where I went hiking yesterday with Tritri. Gorgeous area, literally, since the trails are in a gorge.
I'm glad you were able to hike.
Glad you had a good hike.
I did get in a run this morning, but have been busy all day. I did my 6.66 route. I like holiday mornings because there's not much traffic.

Happy Thanksgiving! Had a great day yesterday with a lovely hike with Zipper!
Beautiful Fall day, gorgeous view, and interesting conversation. We may do it again Friday with Tbone and DH! To top things off, it was close to 70, so hiking in shorts.
DH and I went to the dog park this morning, so the puppies are thankful. He made a pumpkin pie while I went to buy a turkey. We are going out at lunch, but still need a turkey so I can make turkey pot pie and turkey noodle soup! I feel kinda funny buying a frozen turkey on Thanksgiving morning!

Colorado is so weird! 70 today, tomorrow you might have a blizzard!
Lots of good in that post.

The weather is like a roller co! Luckily, every day is nice for a while. Did a bike ride this afternoon with DH. 72 degrees today.
Beautiful day yesterday, and T-bone and I went back today because the gym was closed. He loved it, Tritri! And when he saw the busted dam, he stopped, examined it for a minute with a frown and then said "Huh. Yeah, they (the builders of the dam) were smoking crack." (The dam is a one that burst in 1933 during a flood; looking at the remains today even a layman can easily see how sketchy and inadequate it looks. )

Awesome! Yep, all the engineering know how of a kid with legos!
It's nice that you got together with Zipper.
Trying to manage (read, survive) day with parents.
I'm thankful to finally be sitting down. I am less thankful for slow internet. I don't know what is up with it, but I finally got to sit down and our internet is being super
Like half the time pages won't even load and it just took me 15 minutes to place an order at Home Depot. I've become one of those awful people who buys stuff on Thanksgiving Day.
Except only online from Home Depot and Lowes.
I have a whole list of stuff I need for the next project (gutting a bathroom) and they have some really good deals on "while supplies last" items.
You are allowed to buy on Thanksgiving even if it is more places than Home Depot and Lowes.
The next project sounds really hard. Do you replace all the stuff? My bathtub was done here for me and it is so much better having the fiberglas(?) than enamel.
Happy Thanksgiving! It was a great day, but I am exhausted and my back is killing me. So much work for one day and I didn't even do most of the cooking! Lots of house cleaning and clean up. I'm off all weekend though. I miss working out, so I might try my bike if my back can handle it. I overdid it with carrying things, but I hate asking for help. Looking forward to a relaxing day tomorrow.

If you are a guest for Thanksgiving do you offer to help with the meal prep or clean up?
2017-11-23 2:11 PM
Personally: Meal prep no, because I'm hopeless (when I offer, the host usually pulls me off duty pretty damn fast
). Clean up, hell yes because any idiot can do that and it's good manners. The cook should do no clean up at all. Exception is if the host refuses help - you counteroffer once then retire with grace and do something else to help like entertain children/animals

Yes, exactly this. Especially about the offer, reiterated offer, then backing off if offer is not accepted.
Yes to both. Meal prep in advance, when the invitation is first extended. Again at the time, if I've been in the home for the day before the meal or more. Clean up offer on the day, but in private with the host so he/she does not feel odd in the moment.
Meal prep, only the things I bring but clean up yes. I also encourage O to offer to help with some clean up too.
My family has always hosted Thanksgiving, so I always end up doing a lot of prep and clean up, but if I was at someone else's house for a meal (Thanksgiving or otherwise) I'd definitely offer to help with meal prep and clean up. I likely wouldn't jump in unasked to do meal prep (that's likely to be unwelcome) but would offer to stir/chop if I didn't know the recipe. With clean up, that's something I'm likely to do unasked. People are rarely unhappy if someone washes their dishes.

Yes, definitely. For cleanup, I just start doing it. For prep, I ask before starting in!
As someone who hosted yesterday - I was thrilled to be told "sit down, we are cleaning up." I love to cook and despise doing dishes so this works well for me
