I think Monday he 13th is much more unlucky that Friday the 13th. At least on Friday you have the weekend coming up to recover.
It was cold, dark, windy, damp, and drizzly this morning so I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill. 5 minute walking warmup and then 3 miles at 10:30 pace. And it wasn't an epic struggle like the 2 miles I tried on Saturday. That will quell my hypochondriac fears for a a while.
Dentist appointment today. I don't enjoy those but they haven't been too bad the last 15 years so I hope that streak continues.
I love going to the dentist!
Our weather is improving, the sun should be out tomorrow. Yea! I could actually go out today for my exercise and as soon as I finish here, I will.
Maybe you were just bone tired on Saturday. Or maybe you hadn't fueled properly.
I should never have my blood pressure checked before an dental exam. love you say? tell me it's for the free toothbrush.
I just like that super duper clean feeling!
i too love going to the dentist. love having my teeth cleaned by someone else
I'm working on a theory that quiet people don't like the dentist because it can be uncomfortable to have your mouth open so long.
People who like the dentist then are those who talk a lot and are used to having their mouth open.
I am going to start taking surveys. Maybe get a government research grant.
(My appointment was another quick and easy one.)
I'm sorry. I think your theory is flawed.
Being a hypochondriac is tiring. isn't it? nice run today.
good luck at the dentist.
Yes it is.
I've been streaming Doc Martin on Amazon Prime and I get a kick out of all the people who self-diagnosis themselves on the internet and then go see the doctor.
LOL!!! I call it education.
Um..are you talking about me?
I'm alive. barely. My surgery was last Monday and I recover still. I'm up and moving but that's it. Everyone went back to school and work. I'm lonely and frankly bored. I can't do much. sigh.
you can chat with us. some days we are pretty entertaining!
yes. I've been shameful once again. After the marathon give up, then the giving of the half marathon bib. I sorta crashed. However, my foot has been great since Monday.
Oh I am sorry to hear that. Wishing you a smooth recovery.
thank you. no need to be sorry. I did it because endometrial cancer runs in my family. I do not want to be next.
Hi Dave and Masters.
We got snow yesterday. Not even pretty snow. Just a grey sloppy mess. It's gone today though. And that makes me happy because it is much to early for snow and snow boots.
In the continuing saga of what's new at the track: Yesterday 40 kids were having a birthday party. There is artificial turf and a small scale football field in the middle of the indoor track. I didn't know you could rent it out for parties. Anyway, they were having a ton of fun. Problem was the mom with the 3 crock pots of sloppy joes cooking away in the corner. Smelled so good. Thankful I was only there for time on my feet - not pace goals. There was a sweatshirt in lane 6, a cowboy boot in lane 1 and another one in lane 2. And balls and candy wrappers in lane 3. Other than being messy they were good kids though. I only pitched a fit when they left a can of Mountain Dew on the track.
Today's plan is to stay home and do a little yoga, maybe some dumbbells.
Interesting track you've got
like whoa. I would have asked for a sample
Ran 8.83 miles this morning. Rain had ended by the time i headed out the door. Not bad running weather. 40 and no wind.
yeah I know. I'm not so sad I'm not running. I am ready to drive
what's your recovery schedule? Physical Therapy? etc...
can drive when I feel up to it. I'm hoping for end of the week. most likely will not be able to run until Jan of next year. No PT. Need to heal. I'm going to try to train for a miler in May. Wanna know the deets?
i want to know everything
that looks cool. and 3 options for distances.
yes. I did the 50k this year. it was enjoyable.
its cool when a 50k can be called Enjoyable
it poured. cats and dogs. I ate more mud than I can say. it was fun.
One thing I notice on my early morning runs is there are a lot of people who leave their homes between 5:30-6:00. That's just too early to have to drive to work, assuming that's where they're going. Of course, the people going to work probably think it's way too early to be out exercising. 8 miles this morning.

It's never too early for 8 Mike, you know that.
I enjoyed my neighborhood in the early morn during the summer. no people.
The sun is peeking through the clouds, so my friend and I went for a 3.5 mile power walk this morning.
Then my husband and I went to Costco and bought our turkey. And so the planning begins.
Have a good day all!
inquiring minds want to know the price of turkey. Or I do anyway.
Aldi has it for $.99/lb but Kroger has $.49/lb if I spend another $50. I'm holding out another week to see what the 3rd store in town's counter offer is.
$.99/lb and it was a Butterball. Thought it was a good price. I haven't cooked a turkey in such a long time.
I got my butterball at BJ"s for 89 cents a pound.
what are you making for dessert? Morgan and I are planning. no pie thanksgiving.
we bought 3 turkeys yesterday at Harris Teeter. $.47/lb. we are having 45-50 peeps for thanksgiving.
Oh my and I am sweating hosting 15 people!
Y'All might as well just join us at my house. I'll get a 4th turkey.
There are only 4 of us, can we come too?
Dawn, we could all show up and I don't think he would realize that were there. Let's all go and join the festivities at Rob's house. And we can meet the grandchildren!
matching outfits might be required if they are shooting their Christmas photo on Thanksgiving weekend......
we did our Christmas photo over the summer when Josh and Katie were visiting from Nebraska.
Just dress casual...very casual
Perfect -- glad we come just as we are!
