Noel 18  but I'm feeling better. Got an X-ray at ortho that found no issues with my discs etc but says its lower back (L5) inflammation and I start PT tomorrow.

Hopefully just busy and not a setback?
Parent - By Mookiethedog Date 2017-11-06 1:57 PM
Just a bit of a setback. Never too busy.

Went for about 90 minutes on a fairly technical hike this morning with my girls so it is nice to get out and at least doing something
Ankle held up really well....over 7 weeks now but will not try much of anything running related until at least Friday.

That women's marathon finish was so exciting to watch!

Mickeyd - 90  That felt good.  I've been under average for more weeks than I'm comfortable with.  I'd ideally like a couple weeks in this neighborhood before life gets crazy with the holidays.  I'm fairly confident I'm close to/on track for my year predicted goal and don't want to have to run a ton of miles in December in order to hit it.
Parent - By PoopedColt Date 2017-11-06 11:32 AM
You are awesome! But I had to chuckle - did it ever cross your mind that it would be perfectly ok if you didn’t quite meet your goal? I thought not!:hug:

(I confess I would be the same)

52 here. Just coasting along...

Sorry all, I briefly dropped back in and then disappeared. I'm out for the rest of the year

Sciatica is improving although numbness in my left foot remains which means I'm even less enamoured of snow/ice running than usual. But now the injury I was getting looked at when the sciatica started has re-emerged. Consensus from both physio & MT is that my best option is to forgo any running until both issues are fixed as even if the running isn't causing the issues it certainly isn't helping them. So I'm at pilates twice a week, massage & strength training once a week, and physio every 2 weeks. Hopefully adding swimming if I can get my fat ass out of bed early enough (the pool is mobbed with kids in the evening as it's a hotel pool) and plenty of hot tub and steam room to keep my muscles happy.

I fully intend to be back in 2018 and hopefully if I get all these long-standing issues resolved it'll be my best year running

included the Stonecat trail marathon. I hiked the first loop and ran hiked the second and finished in 8 hrs. my goal was not to trip and re-injure my hamstring so goal achieved! It was a beautiful day. Sunny and low 50's.
