How are your running shoes working out?
Post. Anything.

Brooks Adrenaline 17's are perfect. Great shoes for me.

Tuesday I did 50 minutes outside in the park. It was cold like Monday, but not quite so windy. Wind chill was bearable. Temp was about 38°F. Geese are around in small gaggles, but no deer since I’ve been in the park.
Today I plan a morning run but that might turn into afternoon or USDO. I think it is raining. DC and I are going to volunteer at the library.

Safe and happy runs, All!

Ooh. I also just got new Brooks Adrenaline 17s! Nice. Sounds like a nice morning on the trails. Less wind is good.

They are really comfortable. The 16's never fit so I didn't buy them. But all other years have been wonderful.

Nice run on Tuesday! You can see off geese, no problem.

Well, Judy,
When a Saturday and a Sunday choose to start a family...

 couldn't resist

Bwahahahah!

Hee! Thanks for the giggle.

My running shoes are ok, though I'm likely to need another pair before too long.  I've been running in Mizuno Wave riders for a while and haven't had many problems with them.

I ran 5 miles this morning.  It was nice and cool, though still humid.  Still, I feel so much better than running when it's cool.
Parent - - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 3:18 PM
Do the uppers hold up well? They are light weight shoes, aren't they? It's nice not to have heavy shoes when you run.
Parent - By swandive Date 2017-11-01 5:43 PM
Yep, the uppers still look almost new when I'm noticing that the outsoles/midsoles are getting worn down.  I haven't looked at the actual weight on them, but I think they're a normalish weight.  Definitely not racing flats or anything.

Cool is so much nicer to run in. Even though it is humid, it feels better.
Parent - - By NotSoFast [ca] Date 2017-11-01 9:27 AM
Hoka Clifton 3. I was surprised I was not getting more miles from them then read that the midsoles on these tend to break down faster hoping the 4's hold up longer when I get them.
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-11-01 3:24 PM
Hokas are good shoes, and the added height in them is a bonus for shorter people!
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 4:14 PM
Maybe the 5's will have a more substantial midsole.

I love the Brooks Levitate. Would not have bought them without the discount, but they feel like slippers on my feet.

Did 3.1 last night before the trick or treaters.

Nice for the Brooks shoes! And for fitting in the run before the hordes descended.
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 4:15 PM
Good work on the run! Glad the Levitates are working for you. Isn't it great to have shoes that feel like clouds on your feet after a run?

Yoga this morning. Did a balance class. Oy, I'm so uneven on balance! It was a good class for me.  However, a balance class first thing in the morning, without a warm up, may not be a great choice.

My abs are sore from yesterday's core workout. So I guess that is good:wtf:

I had to bake bread for a potluck at work today. So I put it in the oven before the class and took it out after. BOY did the house smell great. It is my vegan rosemary bread and is SO good! My car smelled good too, I hope the smell lingers there.

Balance class first thing? You are tougher than I am.  Mmm, bread baking smell...
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 4:10 PM
It is weird how balance changes from side to side and day to day.
We had lemon rosemary scones with our tea the first class. Wonderfully fragrant!

I like my running shoes, Asics Nimbus. I ran 3 miles this morning. Hopefully I can start building in more distance. I was busy this morning and didn't get a chance to post.
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-11-01 3:21 PM
Nimbuses are nice shoes. Yay for 3!
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 4:05 PM
Good work on the 3 miler. You are building a good base. Give yourself time.

Adidas stopped making my running shoes and I have exhausted all possible searches so need to find a new pair soon.

6 miles with some short speed intervals on TM thanks to 30s and rain/snow nastiness. Felt good to get some speed running again.
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-11-01 3:21 PM
Good luck with the shoe hunt.
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 4:09 PM
Nice work on the 6 miler! Nastiness will run us inside sooner or later. At least we don't have to wear so many layers inside as out.
Sorry Adidas stopped your shoes.

I hate when manufacturers discontinue my shoes.  I still miss my Asics Landreths.

A rather sluggish HIIT workout today: I was not moving that fast between exercises, but working hard at each one. Then an hour on the TM, total of 5 miles. Then stretching and cool-down on the rowing machine.
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 4:09 PM
Good workout and 5 miler!
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-11-02 9:36 AM
Sounds like a thorough workout.
- - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-11-01 8:42 AM
Wednesday? More like Dednesday. Everyone's sluggish this morning.

Me included. Slept in rather than getting up for a run, which I should have done.
Parent - - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-11-01 3:21 PM
Short run at lunch, 3.1 miles. And my shoes are breaking down but I have no room in my budget for a new pair at this point.
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-11-01 4:07 PM
Great work on the 3.1 miler. When my shoes start to go, the right heel acts up so I can add the heel cup to get a tad more out of them. But the whole body feels the lack of cushioning for sure. :meh:
