How many people can say they have finished even one Ironman, let alone as many as you have? Finished is good.
Parent - By alaskamom Date 2017-10-08 7:23 PM
A HUGE congratulations to you!!  I just simply can't imagine - what a feat, I am in awe!!! And all the more because it was a tough day - extra points for that and digging deep! SO happy for you, and glad you are happy with your awesome performance!!

I ran 3 miles before daylight and then I worked from 7-8 this morning. I am tired and looking forward to not waking up early tomorrow.
Parent - By swandive Date 2017-10-07 7:48 PM
I hope you get to sleep in!

Mile swim in the sound. Followed by a drop in on a swim clinic where they asked me to talk about open water swimming.

8.4 this morning before a funeral. Managed to get up a couple of big hills, I had a book for the LFL at the top of the hill so I left it and took one in its place.

Well, I tried to prepare for gross running conditions and I was not disappointed.  This would've been exceptionally nasty weather in July; it is October. :mutmad:  I trudged along for 14 very slow miles.  It was in the mid 70s with humidity near 100%.  Occasional light rain, but I mostly got drenched with sweat.  My hands should not get pruney from sweat. :mutmad:  I did move a turtle out of the road, but I think that was the highlight of the run.
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-10-08 11:42 AM
Excellent workout! You are persistent! Nice of you to save the turtle. They can use all the help they can get when they venture onto the roads.

Another synchro class. I spent a lot of time upside down, which was really fun, but it also made me a bit dizzy and motion sick.  Tumbling used to do the same.  I hope time will help me get over this.: pbbt:

Now I have to write a paper for my kinesiology class.  It has to be two pages, with at least two citations.:laugh:
Parent - - By reebs (chicken whisperer) Date 2017-10-08 2:54 PM
I'm feeling vaguely  smug that I got a 44 of 45 on my Kinesiology test that I got back today.  That was the highest grade in the class (though others might have scored this as well). I know it is silly, but it also makes me proud.
Parent - By judyruns Date 2017-10-08 4:12 PM
Great job!:cool::grin:
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-10-08 4:47 PM
You should be proud!
Parent - - By swandive Date 2017-10-08 7:10 PM
I can't imagine why you'd be dizzy from being upside down underwater. : pbbt:

Two citations?  Can one be Wikipedia?
Parent - By reebs (chicken whisperer) Date 2017-10-08 7:49 PM Edited 2017-10-08 7:51 PM
:laugh: One can be the textbook. My final paper is about 2.5 pages and had 6 references.

Oh, and MCF now has the pukes, so I hope my dizziness is just from synchro and not a foreshadow of things to come!

4ish trail miles just now.  It is NASTY out there.  UGH.  Similar weather to Swannie.  78 degrees, super super high humidity. And a baby who no longer naps, unless in the car seat or in a stroller.  Sigh...
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-10-08 4:49 PM
No nap? Miss Penny is far too young to be giving up her after lunch nap!
Parent - By swandive Date 2017-10-08 7:11 PM
Why is this October weather?
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-10-08 4:48 PM
6.2 before WW this morning. Not as hot as yesterday, partly because I got out earlier. Not as hilly either!

I am not looking forward to tomorrow's run. :meh:  We're supposed to get rain from Nate, so tomorrow morning it is predicted to be 73*, 99% humidity, and not much of a breeze.  It is October, not August. :mutmad:  Running today wouldn't have been much better -- it's cloudy and grey and stiflingly humid.
Parent - By runningteach [us] Date 2017-10-07 2:58 PM
The humidity just drains me. I hope your run goes well.

I just treated the kittens for ear mites. They are NOT happy, especially Lizzy. Vociferous protests and shaking of head -- however she needs to learn that if she wants to shake something out of her ears, like ear mite drops, she'll have more success if her ears aren't flattened when she does the shaking.
Parent - - By swandive Date 2017-10-08 7:12 PM
You're good people for taking care of the kitties.  Though some of your adult cats might disagree.
Parent - By Arimathea [us] Date 2017-10-08 9:13 PM
Gwen most certainly disagrees. She considers the existence of every kitten to be a personal insult.

Good thing she's spayed, because there is not one maternal bone in Gwen's furry body.
