Why, why?

Another senseless shooting.

Prayers for all affected.

45 minutes on the Cybex ARC Trainer.  Calf is still sore/tender, not that I was expecting it to be better already.  Mentally I am in a good place for a week on the ARC Trainer, but after a week I may start to get nervous about the half marathon.  It's still almost 5 weeks away so I should be ok.  I was sort looking at this as maybe my last half and I guess it would be fitting to be injured and dnf.

Your last half?  Finish strong!
Parent - By Blueberry Sky Date 2017-10-02 3:38 PM
You're in good shape Dave, 5 wks out you are certainly going to be just fine.
You will NOT be injured and DNF! or DNS!

saw the news before heading out to run this morning.
9.23 miles done. With 2x2 miles at 7:15 pace in the middle of the run.

The fast man!

How many days is your streak up to?
Parent - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2017-10-03 6:18 AM
Hey there stranger  Its at 2507

It is horrible to wake up to this kind of news.   Locally, we have a department of children and family employee airlifted to a trauma center because when she went to check on a child, the child's father beat her almost to death.  I can't comprehend these senseless events.

arms, abs, and yoga poses today.  Added on another 5 reps to the arm stuff.  Check out Geel's friend Susanne's "Road to Kona" video.  There's a link on Karen's facebook page.  Or I suppose you can google Road to Kona.  I haven't watched the whole episode yet but so far it is good stuff.  Makes you want to go conquer the world.

Power walked 5.25 miles and saw goats, horses and cows along the way.

Also worked on my flower pots. Costco has big beautiful mums for $9.99.
Really need to go inside and shower!

Blueberry Sky made it to Alaska!

Yay BBS!!
Parent - By Blueberry Sky Date 2017-10-02 3:34 PM
Lets see, I saw several herds of Bison, especially noted were the ones right in the middle of the road, tons of antelope, deer, a mink, a very large porcupine, tons of squirrels, lots of skunks, especially in Alberta, oh and I was in the middle of an old fashioned cattle drive at the border of Colorado/Wyoming. If that wasn't a good time, I'm not sure what is...

I was hoping to see bear and moose, but then again, I saw plenty of those guys in Colorado.

Your yard has got to just be BEAUTIFUL!

Terrible news.

Had a slow but comfy 3.8 mile run yesterday. Went to a different hour spin class this am. Ok, not great. Our gym has the most basic of spin classes. Good enough for me. The instructors make it fun.

Fallish here. Should plant some pansies but it needs to b more continuously cool, so not yet. They get leggy in the heat.
Parent - By oncearunner [us] Date 2017-10-02 2:31 PM
Oh I want to plant some pansies also.  I have several spots already selected.

A run is a run -- good for you!

I get to plant flowers in the Spring! Pretty excited about that.

You are so consistent with your spinning and runs!
I should get off my duff...

I'm on fall break.  I slept until 6:30 and decided to run later in the sunshine.  Got in 10.17 miles in the late morning   Ran out and back on rural roads that I haven't run in a while.

Prayers for the families of this tragedy.

Also just learned that Tom Petty has died.

Enjoy your fall break!

Sad about Tom Petty -- 66 is not very old.
Parent - By Blueberry Sky Date 2017-10-02 3:39 PM
Fall break already? It's barely October, didn't school just start? :shocker!:
But hey, good for you!
Parent - - By Blueberry Sky Date 2017-10-02 2:30 PM
How is Tom Petty dead? :shocker!::cry::cry::cry:

Vegas: :cry::cry::cry: WHY???

Alaska. I have a new zip code! 3210 mile road trip.
It was a beautiful drive, I'd love to do the Yukon Territory again, it's AMAZING!

Time to get that albatross, I mean U-haul, off the back of my car.
Parent - - By oncearunner [us] Date 2017-10-02 2:33 PM
You are unbelievable!  It seems like the trip was a pretty smooth one.

Enjoy being with your son!
Parent - By Blueberry Sky Date 2017-10-02 3:29 PM
Trip was super smooth.
One of the chains broke on the trailer, but luckily I was in a truck stop so I bought a carabiner and it held the entire way. There there a couple of times things could have gone very wrong with a rough patch in the road and then a curve that snuck up on me, but my nerves of steel got me through it. Whew.:laugh:

Pretty proud of myself for this one. I planned it out really well given it was a total unknown, especially once in Canada. All my worry about the border crossing was a waste of time, as most worrying is. : pbbt::roll:

Son isn't around much, he's mostly in Soldotna, but still closer to him than I was before! His dad/my ex husband is here too, and that's actually kinda fun.
I'm going to force these boys into Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Now it's demo/remodel time. I get to be my own HGTV.
Parent - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2017-10-03 6:20 AM
Glad you had a great trip. Enjoy the new zip code.
