 Is this because the cortisone injection was masking the pain and your body didn’t know when enough was enough? What’s the prognosis and healing process for this?
Parent - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 6:40 AM
I was down to zero pain. I went to my soccer game to support my team but wasn't dressed to play. Had tennis shoes on and was just warming them up. Literally on the third pass I made i'm pretty sure it tore. I wasn't running. I was standing and passing. In tennis shoes.:mutmad: I can't even put my heel down.

I do wonder if the second shot weakened the fascia, but I'll never know. My foot was feeling so good on Friday i canceled the followup. Which I'm now trying to reschedule.
Parent - - By kelly_v Date 2017-09-25 6:33 AM
yikes did you play soccer?
Parent - - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 6:41 AM
see above but no. I was warming them up. Standing in tennis shoes and on the third pass - RIP! It felt different from the right tear though. That time i actually felt fibers tear. This time it was just like a knife going through my foot. But the pain since then pretty much tells me that it ripped.

that just makes me cringe

--Happy belated birthday Kelly!

--I can’t wait for winter so I can get a break. Keeping up with summer/fall chores is kicking my butt.

--Made and canned 2 quarts/8 pints tomato juice, canned 4 quarts/2 pints diced tomatoes, diced and froze several bags of peppers, sliced up paprika peppers and got those in the dehydrator and trimmed and cleaned enough beans for another batch of those to put in the canner. Then we put wire cages or chicken wire around all 18 fruit trees to keep the deer from rubbing on them and killing them. Oh yea, and I made stuffed peppers using all kinds of stuff out of the garden.

--Seems the quarter dose of Prednisone is keeping the arm in a tolerable state without making me sick. I’m really looking forward to Wednesday because I’m getting a massage and then Friday for the visit with the bone/joint specialist.

--Sarge got crazy excited yesterday morning when we got ready to leave to go to town for a run.

--Well, because we don’t already have enough farm equipment, we got a combine this weekend. I knew it was coming. Didn’t quite realize those things were so big. :shocker!: Iowa is going to harvest his first field of soybeans this weekend so he kind of needed to get it now!
Parent - - By flyguy (Stump Grinder) [us] Date 2017-09-25 6:31 AM
We picked the last of the green beans yesterday. Still have quite a few tomatoes coming in
Parent - - By spiritbear [us] Date 2017-09-25 7:14 AM
I think the rest of my tomatoes, peppers and beans are pretty much just going to rot on the plants. I’m done. And, you can’t give it away (especially if you tell people just to come pick whatever they want) because they are too damn lazy. They want you to pick it, wash it and deliver it to them. And, even that is usually a pita.
Parent - By kelly_v Date 2017-09-25 7:37 AM
I would probably be in the "too lazy" category but also because I don't know when things are best to be picked. So if you had some peppers I'd like I don't know enough about gardening to know which ones to grab
Parent - - By kelly_v Date 2017-09-25 6:37 AM
thanks!

LOL on you guys and MORE farm equipment. Although I thought you were getting the combine a while ago, the trade off between shoes and the combine
Parent - - By spiritbear [us] Date 2017-09-25 7:17 AM
Uh, that was the corn picker. Get your farm equipment straight, will ya? : pbbt: Oh yea, and I left that little tidbit out on our weekend activities. I was up in the wagon moving corn as Iowa was driving the tractor which had the corn picker attached to it, which had the wagon attached to that where all the corn was going and spiritbear was riding in. We have pictures and video to capture the moment. : pbbt:

I so so so wanted to tell you your purple pod beans were green not purple!

Farm equipment:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Glad the steroid is working for you at least finally.
Parent - - By spiritbear [us] Date 2017-09-25 7:14 AM
The purple beans turn green when you cook them. I should have taken a before and after picture. My bad.
Parent - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 7:27 AM
Well, I figured the pods were purple and maybe the insides weren't. But that makes sense, too!

You work so hard during gardening season.  I truly don't know how you do it all.

~Started our Cross Country Toilet Fundraiser yesterday. Made $100 in the 1st day :laugh::laugh:  https://www.facebook.com/LBXC-Crazy-Crapper-Fundraiser-330001500806007/

~My health is really in the shitter right now. Fevers, bad stomach, exhausted :mutmad: Wonder if it has to do with the 1000 oak mite and tick bites I got?

~Our invitational is this Saturday and we've had the 1st major malfunction. The Coach at the University whose course we are using texted me. Someone at the college mowed down all the fields where the course is located to ground level. You can't even tell where the course was. He is livid. Now I'm going to have to come up with a couple cases of white paint to paint lines. It was such a gorgeous course. Now it's just 3 empty fucking fields. :mutmad::mutmad::mutmad:

~Looking seriously at putting on a 6hr/12hr timed ultra in July.

~Need a new laptop. Or at the very least need to wipe this one clean and start over.

~Exactly 3 months until Christmas.
Parent - - By kelly_v Date 2017-09-25 6:38 AM
Too funny about the fundraiser. I think I've seen those before

WOW how do they screw up the course like that. I mean presumably the college uses it too, right?
Parent - By flyguy (Stump Grinder) [us] Date 2017-09-25 6:39 AM
It's their first season and they don't host a meet this year. They were up in Minnesota at a meet when it happened.
Parent - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 6:45 AM
100 mite and tick bites? WTH did you get into?:shocker!: I hope you go to the doctor!

How disappointing for the fields and your invitational!
Parent - By spiritbear [us] Date 2017-09-25 7:18 AM
Your fundraiser is awesome.
Parent - By Mickeyd Date 2017-09-25 8:14 AM
 on the health and tick/mite bites.  Definitely should probably make sure you aren't developing Lyme disease.
Parent - - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 6:55 AM
Oh, and I threw my back out this morning. Probably from limping. It is much better now but still sore. It was the kind that hurt to breathe.

Just had a sudden, searing pain in my big toe while walking. I've gotten pain occasionally but nothing this intense. I haven't even worked out in 2 weeks. Getting old sucks.
Parent - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 7:52 AM
Yes it does.
Parent - By spiritbear [us] Date 2017-09-25 8:40 AM
You two aren’t even close to being old. I don’t want to hear it. Let me tell you, it does get worse!

*They had a bunch of ambulances dispatched to the marching band competition on Saturday.  It was 120 degrees on the astroturf field.  :shocker!::cry:  And of course everyone was in full uniform.  Our band didn't perform until 9:15 and they had moved everything indoors by then when it would've been safe to be outside.  Of course our kids still put in 4 hours of practice in the heat before competition, but at least they weren't in full uniform for that.  On competition days, these band kids put in a 12-15 hour day with hours of practice, long bus rides and then staging before the competition.

*I was worthless all weekend.  I had a horrible asthma day Saturday and Sunday, well I have no excuse for Sunday.   Totally missed what should've been my last long run for Columbus.   I'm not sure if I'll try and fit it into this busy week somewhere or what.  :meh:  I'm feeling pretty :meh: about the whole thing to be honest.  My foot finally barely hurts but I lost so much over the past 3 months.

*Death By Chocolate ice cream is my new crave food.  Must resist buying more.

*Who drank all the coffee anyway?
Parent - - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 8:15 AM
um. I drank all the coffee. Sorry. Will do better.:blush:

OMG Turf is so freaking hot! I bet their feet were just burning!

We play on a few turn fields and last summer, one of our players literally had cleats melting.:shocker!:
Parent - - By Mickeyd Date 2017-09-25 9:52 AM
I didn't realize it was so much hotter than grass.
Parent - By Photocat [us] Date 2017-09-25 11:34 AM
Yeah, our feet were burning just last week! And it is FALL!
Parent - - By kelly_v Date 2017-09-25 8:37 AM
yikes that sounds terrible for the competition. Aren't the band uniforms heavy wool or something?

Death by Chocolate has always been my dads favorite type of ice cream.
Parent - By Mickeyd Date 2017-09-25 9:54 AM
Our uniforms aren't wool, but they are long sleeves/pants/gloves and large Shako hat. Way too much for 90+ degrees.
