4.4 miles with my wife.

My son requested ribs and pulled pork or brisket from That BBQ Joint for his birthday dinner tonight. #cantwait #yum

Hey so I'm back at work and therefore back to wasting time on the internet. I didn't run and won't run for the foreseeable future. But hi good to see you're still here talking to yourself. : pbbt:

I haven't posted about cars in a long time. :shocker!:

Well, in case you're Jonesin' -

Just read that Chevy is discounting their Cruze diesels through the month of August.  DW told me I could at least inquire via CostCo.  My level of interest is evident by the fact that I gave some sales rep my email and phone number.  This is HUGE for me...

Got real mixed feelings.  I'm only a few thousand miles away from 300k on the Vibe.  DW did ask "which car are you thinking about trading?"  I wonder if she'd even consider letting the fuel guzzling Element (with its hated automatic transmission) go?

We were researching the Cruze for my youngest DS. They don't come with any kind of spare tire - just a patch kit and pump. That was a deal breaker for us and just FYI in case you didn't know...

I didn't.  Thanks for that info...

I'm not sure if that's entirely true. From what I remember some trims didn't have a spare (came with a lame patch/inflation kit instead) but you could buy a spare as an option (again, on certain trims).

It was a half assed way to lower weight and up the EPA mileage estimates.

Also, I'm assuming (maybe incorrectly) that poopedcolt is talking about the first generation Cruze. I don't know if the current generation has a spare.

I don't know if it was the first generation, but we were looking at used ones 2011-2013ish. It's just something I wouldn't have thought about.  Before I happened to catch it while comparing two models, I assumed all cars had at least a donut tire.
Parent - - By The Beard (is wearing Arm Panties) [us] Date 2017-08-11 9:15 AM
That's the first generation.

I agree, I was surprised when some cars started to omit the spare tire. Getting a flat isn't a frequent problem but when it is I don't want to be messing with a patch kit.

I've had five flats that I recall. Only two could have been patched. One completed shredded and the other two were sidewall issues. And no way would I put my kid in a car without a spare. It's just something I would never think to look at when checking out a car.

Just found a forum where owners state that their 2017 Cruze's come w/ a donut 'spare.'  I will ask the dealer when I talk to them...

I also just learned it may not come w/ a CD player :mutmad:  My enthusiasm is waning fast...

You can put "wanting a CD player in my car" in the "What's making you feel old?" thread.

Congrats on being back at work.  I wish we had the internet where I worked...

...on something besides my stoopid phone

10 miles, middle 2 hard on some trails, then charged up some hills on the way back. Tired now.

The plan is to try for 11 miles w/ a partially loaded hydration vest to begin prepping for my next journey run.

- By foggydoggy [us] Date 2017-08-11 11:04 AM
3.5 miles did 6x400's w/ what was supposed to be 1 minute but was more like 1:30 of recovery plus wu and cd.  The workout sucked.  I did the first one a little fast but they were really hurting for some reason and slower than the last time I did this.
