The one thing I've been afraid to do since the surgery is a hill workout. Today was the day. With a hilly 10k this weekend I figured it was the right time...

I went back to my old reliable hill. It's about 300m and gets steeper as it goes. It's a killer.

2 mile warm up
10xhill all around 5:57-6:03 pace with jog downs.
2 miles at 6:11

I felt really strong and my hip felt good. I was running about 2 seconds faster than I used to run this hill so that's exciting!

5.7 for me this morning.  Another faster paced run, averaging an 8:09, mainly thanks to hammering a 7:15 mile 5.  Usually a good run for me averages just over 8:30, so I was moving today.  It's funny how whatever is responsible for my not being able to sleep coincides so perfectly with having great runs.  :wtf:  I always know when I'm not sleeping, my running is on fire.  : pbbt:  How strange.
