How was the weekend? What's up today?
Parent - - By DottieO Date 2017-07-24 7:57 AM
Weekend was great! Lots of family and sunshine and food and my sister and I finished our sprint tri at right around  2 hours. Our conservative goal was 2:15 and we figured 2:30 but I didn't totally suck on the swim (23 or so minutes I think) but I was slow on the run from babying my knee but the knee was fine. Today we are going out of town until tomorrow so I'll write up something and see if I can get a pic. No official times yet.

nice work. weather was almost pleasant
Parent - - By Dave59 [us] Date 2017-07-24 8:17 AM
I'm back at work after a 5-day weekend, but Annabelle is still here so there will be a number of interruptions this week.

I tried to run 3 this morning but didn't feel too good.  It ended up taking 38 minutes.  I go a mile ok then crash.  Is it some combination of weight, age, heat, and humidity or is there something wrong with me?  Beats me.  I guess I will go ahead and switch to the gym for a while and see if that makes me feel weak and sick too.  (I could use the TM at the gym as suggested by Geel a couple days ago but it seems like it is something about the running itself that feels bad.)  I have a doctor appointment on August 14th so I can ask him about things if I still feel bad.
Parent - - By Grey Beard Tom [us] Date 2017-07-24 9:33 AM
I'm not a doctor and don't play one on TV, but here goes.

"You say you had a 5 day weekend, with granddaughter, work sucks, the weather sucks, and you want to know why a Monday morning run sucks"????:wtf::wtf::wtf:

See me in 2 months.

I hope you're right.  Everytime I feel bad I assume the worst.  Maybe I need a therapist instead of a doctor.
Parent - By runnergeel [us] Date 2017-07-24 1:59 PM
 how about gatorade on the run?
Parent - By runnergeel [us] Date 2017-07-24 1:58 PM
gotcha. I hope you figure it out soon. no one likes to feel bad. I'm sorry

My Monday morning run-walk sucked.   But moving forward.

All the grandkids and future grandkid are here now.  My week with Josiah was way too fast.   Our fishing trip in the bay/ocean was really bad. 40 people on the boat, and only 5 keeper fish caught.  Scott caught a small shark.  Josiah still had a good time, but it was an expensive boat ride.

Tonight is Wilmington Blue Rocks Minor League baseball game.  Cowboy Monkey Rodeo between innings, where Monkeys ride the backs of dogs that herd sheep.  That alone is worth the $5 Monday ticket price.

Tuesday is beach day, Thursday a trip to Valley Forge.  A few other goodies in between.

Tom in DE.

You have such adventures with the grandkids.  I'd really like to see that monkey/dog/sheep rodeo.  I love to watch herding dogs - trying to imagine them with monkeys though.....

The PETA people will be protesting at the ballpark.

>Monkeys ride the backs of dogs that herd sheep<

What would aliens think if they landed in the middle of that?
Parent - By runnergeel [us] Date 2017-07-24 1:59 PM
wow nice plans. sorry about your run.

The weekend was hot and humid.: pbbt:

Today tho I was able to wear long sleeves walking the dog.  60-ish degrees.   Later, on my way to Happy Tails, it had warmed up to right around 70 and I saw runner; long pants, long sleeves, and wool cap.  What the heck?  Trying to cut weight?  Or induce a heart attack.....

4 miles for me.  That's a long run these days.  Found a dime.  I have found money on every one of my July runs.

Stopped at the farmer's market for just picked sweet corn and tomatoes.  Sorry Tom, not Delaware corn.
Parent - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2017-07-24 11:06 AM
I saw a dude dreseed like that running yesterday morning. when it was already in the 80's and humid
Parent - - By Grey Beard Tom [us] Date 2017-07-24 11:49 AM
Our store that carried the really good Delaware corn has closed.   Have to travel around for it now.
Parent - - By dnaff [us] Date 2017-07-24 2:06 PM
Take the train to Illinois again - Bring Karen with you.  We'll watch her run and then celebrate with corn!!

Parent - - By runnergeel [us] Date 2017-07-24 2:02 PM
Hi. late check in.

8.3 miles of slow arse crap. I did a number on myself Saturday. I'm too sore to train. whatever. Last night I pondered a 50k instead of the marathon.

had lunch with my cousin and her family from MA, they are moving south to NC  and made a pit stop. We had an enjoyable lunch at the new Grain H2O at summit marina.

would you please put your feet up?  Sit on your butt a couple minutes at least???
Parent - - By runnergeel [us] Date 2017-07-24 2:32 PM
wed. while my butt sits on a plane all damn day.
Parent - - By dnaff [us] Date 2017-07-24 3:18 PM
  Say NO to long plane rides.   And wear your compression socks just in case.  I know of too many runners that get blood clots on the darn plane.
Parent - By runnergeel [us] Date 2017-07-25 3:52 AM

Parent - - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2017-07-24 2:25 PM

Parent - - By OldAndInTheWay Date 2017-07-24 3:56 PM

Parent - - By runnergeel [us] Date 2017-07-25 3:53 AM
