Worst time of the year for certain parts of the country if you don't like the sun and heat. Just have to hang in there and survive until it is over.
5 miles this morning. Not too bad.
Highs for the next 6 days as shown on Weather Underground: 92, 91, 94, 96, 96, 92.....
Going to be a real test of character out there. At least I have an indoor job.
I am off the rest of the week after today. There is a lot of stuff flying around and people could be wanting stuff done when I am not here. I am going to try and lay low today and then slip out the door quietly. Then when they try to contact me tomorrow or the next day they will get an "out of office" message and let the freak-outs begin.
Why do people wait until you are about to leave on vacation or are on vacation, for them to want something? It's like they just hold on to the request until you are gone. That used to irritate me to no end.
here is to finding stealth mode...

I love the 'out of office' message. It really changed up office politics. Let the sneak out and the freak out begin.
Hey, and nice run this morn.
Good morning Dave and others to follow
It is indeed the time to stay indoors. We were lucky to receive 1/2" of rain yesterday afternoon and a sprinkling last night. So it is pleasant at the moment. I keep telling reminding myself that October is right around the corner. The back to school ads have started already so I know that cooler weather is coming soon!
Yesterday we went and toured the LBJ Ranch -- beautiful country!
Have a good Tuesday!
yay for rain. doesn't it seem like we wish our lives away...

October is one of my favorite months, but I'm not quite ready just yet.
Hey you changed the date format. I will try and deal with it.
Running The Dawn 10k at lunch time.
Hot here too. But it is July after all. But only going up to 88 today. Next 7 days after that are in the 90's.
A few of the kids have a swim meet tonight. I may volunteer to stay home and "watch" the little ones.
You don't want to be a swim-meet-mom?
swim meets are the worst. Got 2 kids swimming tonight. 3 hour meet. Blink and I will miss the 30 seconds they are involved in.
Face time their events from the pool

That seems to be all I hear......the time suck vortex of waiting for your kid. Seems similar to a track meet. Amy and Lisa were in youth track back in the day. Had to be there at 9am. They both ran the 50 which was the last event. Every kid ran the 50 when they were 7 years old. There would be 10 heats. It would take forever. Seems my girls never ran until mid afternoon.
up with the sun. 8 miles with 6 at "MP" which is a word I use loosely.
I continue to struggle.
Back on Myfitnesspal.
Boy at camp. Girl sorta awake.
School supply shopping later.
You know, I like all of this. This time of summer - loosely is good.
now I sorta feel better and that it is over....
I have 12 tomorrow with 8 at MP.
What is your MP? What is your goal for the race?
Back on Myfitnesspal
Me too...see ya there
I am a load.
My goal is anything under 4. My MP is 830. today was a slippery slide down 830 to 850.
Slippery slide is awesome code!!!!
Are you ready for your trip with wondergirl? You don't have to be on camera as sherpa do you?
nope. thank god. thanks dood
I would be all oh hell no re the camera thing
Hopefully you do a good job of keeping her calm. Is S going to? I forgot to ask her.
Oh and I can't believe you are school supply shopping already! I am in serious denial
We've got the same kind of weather forecast you all are speaking of. However, it dropped into the 50's last night.
They sure missed that one. I had the a/c on and the house closed up. I dressed in my running clothes to walk Misha and actually was cold.
Could not hurry that girl up by any means. And all I wanted was to lock her in doggy jail and get my run on. anyway...mission accomplished and it was still only low 60's when I ran. Heat index could be above 100 the rest of the week. Actual temps hi 80's low 90's. yep, embrace that humidity. I could never live in Florida.
Did my post-run yoga on the patio to delight the neighbors.

6.21 miles done. The Dawn 10k was a sweaty skanky mess...but enjoyable
Makayla and I had a great time in northern Ohio last week. Cedar Point wwas a lot of fun. We spent two days there. Roller coasters are still fun! Makayla had an eye problem while we there. On Monday her eye was watering and hurting. Tuesday morning she could barely open it. I found a nearby eye doctor and the dr immediately diagnosed her with a corneal ulcer. I spent the rest of the day putting in a very strong antibiotic drop in Makayla's eye very 15 minutes. Did that all day at Cedar Point. Her follow up appointment back home shows she is healing, but she is on a steroid drop. She's doing fine now.
I ran 8 this morning.
Glad you enjoyed the roller coasters but sorry to hear about Makayla's eye problems. How did she get the corneal ulcer?
The dr. thinks from her eye contact case. She had to throw it away plus throw away some of her makeup kit for fear the bacteria would be on it.
