How would you guys train for a metric marathon (26.2 kilometers or 16.4 miles)? I'm thinking of taking a half marathon training schedule (like Hal Higdon) and adding some distance, say 2 to 3 miles, to the long runs only. Any thoughts?

Seriously, sure, why not? I've used a half-marathon schedule for a 25k and did okay.
