Hoping slavin and JimGo1 are running again and will be posting here this week.Ran 25.8 last week. 

This week I'm going to try for 30 again, with one fast run and one long run (hoping for a 12 miler, but 10 will do).

6.2 miles in 9:17 min/mile tempo run.  Fastest pace so far in a long time.  6th mile dipped below 9min/mi (8:57).

Probably aim for 7 or 8 easy miles tomorrow, depending on how windy it's supposed to be.

Yeah I tried it again last weekend and no good. It's feeling a lot better...at this point it only hurts when I run.  :wtf:

Take it easy, come back gradually.  Last week, I felt something happening w/the groin pull myself.  It was on the last mile, and the last day of the week I was planning on running.  I definitely took it easy  Saturday, and so far, luckily, it hasn't come back.

I've had a back issue after last Thursday's day of skiing.  I woke up Friday morning with my occasional lower right back pain.  I've had it a bunch of times over the last 10 years and made the mistake of seeing a back surgeon who told me I should have surgery.  It's what they called compression, plus I have this cyst that has hardened around the spinal area.  But this is pretty normal as we age, I was told.  So I thought, no way am I opting for surgery right away.  At the time (last year) I felt I could stand to lose 50 pounds first, and see if that worked, then maybe PT.  My neighbor, who is a surgical PA who specializes on knee and hip replacements told me way too many people opt for back surgery when they should try weight loss and PT first.  I've recently noticed the same advice on NPR and on in the news, too.  So far, I've lost 25 pounds, and hope to drop another 25 in the next 6 months to a year.  Hoping to get back down to my "pre-kids" weight of about 200 pounds, which worked well for me.  I could probably go as low as 190, but those last 10 pounds aren't too big of a deal to me.

The good news about my back pain is that even though it's a bit painful walking around (I'm slightly bent to the side), I can actually run while I have the pain.  After about 1-2 miles, the pain pretty much goes away.  It usually comes back after about 2 hours after the run, but at least I can get a run in.

Fairly easy 7.52 miles in 9:42 min/mile, fighting the wind on the last 1/3 of the run.  If I had gone out any later, it would have been much worse.

Ran 1 mile warmup, then did 8 x 0.25mi repeats on a dirt trail in the open space near where I live.  Walked 0.15mi between, then ran about 1 mile home.  5.62mi total miles (I counted everything including walking) in 9:54 min/mi.

6 miles in 9:45.  I can see my pace will be slower with the warmer weather now.  I'll have to start running at 6am whenever possible (which will be tough until my oldest daughter is done school in late May).

12.1miles  in 9:42 min/mi.  Longest training run in 10 years.

I went a little over in miles this week (36), so next week I'll aim for 30.

It's been a long week at the office and it's time to blow off a little steam! I am a Junior Vice President! I have business cards that say "Junior Vice President" on them! My boys are coming out with me tonight! They all have striped shirts too!

I figure we'll kick off the night with some Golden Tee! I am going to smack the shit out of that little white ball! It's going to be so fucking loud! I'll bet I can drive that pretend golf ball 600 fucking yards tonight! I'm that fucking pumped!

I can almost taste those Jager Bombs right now! I fucking love Red Bull! I put it on my God damned cereal! I'm crushing one right now!

I'm thinking about buying a boat this year!

I'm gonna fight someone tonight! I pray to God someone makes eye contact with me! I will beat his ass! And God help him if he gets any blood on my striped shirt! If he does, I'll scrub it out with his dick and some bleach! I mean it!

I'm gonna grind on girls asses tonight! You heard me! When I see a group of girls dancing in a circle, I will select the most attractive one and dry hump her until it hurts! I will rub my cock against her so that she can feel my throbbing hard on!

I will valet tonight!

I will treat the valet with contempt and make sure that he knows that I am superior to him in life! I will tell him to "Take it easy on the brakes, Champ"!

I will talk to people I don't know about my job tonight! They will all know that I am an important man! I will call female bartenders "Babe" and male bartenders "Chief"!

When I do not hook up with a girl at that club, I will say that the place is "full of skanks"! We will wait in a long line to go to another bar only to strike out again!

I will give up and decide to order a gyro off of a street vendor! I will make fun of him to my friends for being foreign! I will look ridiculous purchasing my gyro because people will be able to tell by my striped shirt and tinted sunglasses that I struck out and am settling for a gyro!

I will make one last attempt to hook up by trying to coax two big girls who are also ordering gyros to coming back to my place for "after hours"! When they say no I will make fun of them for being fat! I will leave!

When I get home I will go to the bathroom and hold the straight razor to my wrist again! I will gently drag the razor laterally against my vein, making sure not to actually cut myself!

I will then go to my room and pass out! I will need some shut eye so that I'll be ready to fucking party again tomorrow!
